About the role

To design, develop, configure, and maintain automation and integration to systems across the Systems Development Lifecycle which are aligned to business processes and relevant internal and external governance. About the role:

As the Manager: Analytics Engineering at Capitec, you will play a pivotal role in designing and managing scalable data pipelines and ensuring efficient analytics operations to empower data-driven decision-making. At Capitec, the Software Engineer (AI) plays a pivotal role in our cross-functional team, dedicated to the full software development lifecycle of our GenAI-based products. This includes research, development, deployment, and the ongoing operation of each product. As a Software Engineer (AI), you will be responsible for research, designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing complex AI-driven software systems and applications. Your focus will be on scalability, performance, and future requirements. 

You will work closely with our team of designers and developers to deliver robust GenAI solutions. This role also involves guiding and supporting developers and stakeholders in scoping, progress, status, and resolution of engineering problems. Your expertise in utilizing generative models, natural language processing, and AI-driven workflows will be crucial in creating intelligent systems that can generate content, automate creative tasks, and enhance user experiences in novel ways. 

Our ideal candidate has:

• 5+ years of work experience in a ML/AI or associated domains
• 3+years of experience with AI/Machine Learning techniques, model development and deployment
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), and AI development tools is a must
• Experience with information retrieval systems and Search
• Proficiency in Python, Java or C++, and other relevant programming languages
• Strong expertise in Docker and Kubernetes

Purpose Statement

• The level III Software Engineer plays an integral part in a cross-functional team dedicated to the full software development lifecycle, from concept, to development to deployment and ultimately operating of each product. At this level, Software Engineers are responsible to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and enhance complex software systems and applications, considering scalability, performance and future requirements. Responsible to guide and support developers and stakeholders in scoping, progress, status and resolution of engineering problems.
• The Back-end Software Engineer plays a crucial role in building solutions that offer optimum performance, reliability, and scale. They are responsible for writing and testing code for the development of the server-side components that power the application’s functionality.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or engineering
• At least 5 – 7 years’ proven experience within an Analytical role pertaining to the banking environment
• At least 2 years’ experience within a management or team leader role focusing on team oversight and development and client interaction
• Proven track record of delivering on complex analytical requirements
• Problem solving using data analytics
• Business and product vision; has had ownership responsibility for a Product previously 
• Working at strategic, tactical and technical levels  
• Career experience to include some time in one or more technical roles (e.g. data engineer, data architect, Data science, etc.)

About this role:

As a Senior Data Scientist at Capitec, your purpose is to drive the Capitec’s AI strategy, with the unique opportunity to shape and own this vision from the ground up. This involves leveraging advanced, practical knowledge of state-of-the-art machine learning principles and techniques—including deep learning, natural language processing (NLP), and reinforcement learning—to develop innovative models and solve complex business challenges. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising predictive models and intelligent algorithms to uncover actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across departments.

The role also includes the full machine learning lifecycle, from data preprocessing and experimental design to production-level model deployment. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will gather requirements and manage stakeholder engagement across the business, including executive-level management. Additionally, you will bring expertise in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, while mentoring junior data scientists to foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.

Our ideal candidate has:

• 6+ years of experience in a Senior Data Science role
• Master’s degree or higher in any of the following field statistics, mathematics, computer science, physics  
• Hands on experience deploying AI/ML solutions in real-world applications
• Experience with advanced data science principles including NLP, deep learning, reinforcement learning, or time-series modeling.
• Python/R experience and relation/Non-relational databases.
• Familiarity with modern deep learning frameworks (Pytorch, Tensorflow)
• Stakeholder engagement management up to executive management.
• Github experience or Git

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Front-end Software Engineer with a robust background in modern development practices. You will play an integral part in a cross-functional team dedicated to the full software development lifecycle, from concept to development, deployment, and ultimately operating each product. 

As a Front-end Software Engineer, you will be responsible for translating design mockups into interactive and user-friendly interfaces, focusing on intuitive user experiences web applications. The role is within the web team, who are responsible for all Capitec web properties and more specifically our corporate website. 

Our ideal candidate has:

• Grade 12 National Certificate (Minimum) 
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology (preferred)  
• 5+ years’ proven experience in front-end software development, project delivery and implementation (in relevant development technologies/language). Experience with modern front-end frameworks and technologies. 
• Strong attention to detail, capable of translating designs from UX into functional web components accurately. 
• Experience with consuming and integrating APIs

Purpose Statement

Are you ready to elevate your software engineering career? Capitec is seeking a passionate Level II Software Engineer to join our innovative team!

What You’ll Do:

• Engage in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and development to deployment and operation. You’ll design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software systems and applications, all while adhering to our high standards. You’ll translate requirements from business or technical analysts and actively participate with the delivery team in design and problem-solving.

About The Role

As a Senior Salesforce UX Designer, you will provide strategic leadership in Product Design and UX design across digital platforms. You will solve complex design challenges and drive innovation in Product Design and user experience delivery. Serving as a subject matter expert and mentor, you will actively develop team capabilities and influence product strategy through design thinking and user advocacy. Lead high-impact design initiatives from initial concept to final implementation, facilitating design thinking workshops, and architecting sophisticated user flows and interaction patterns. You will also drive the evolution of design systems, create exemplar prototypes, and oversee comprehensive usability testing programs. Additionally, you will represent UX design in cross-functional delivery discussions, provide technical and strategic mentorship to team members, and contribute to the overall UX vision and strategy of the organization

Our Ideal Candidate

• A minimum of 5-7 years of professional UX design experience, with a proven track record of leading complex design initiatives.
• Experience in mentoring junior and mid-level designers
• Mastery of UX design principles and methodologies
