Minimum Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Trade: Millwright MQA/QCTO (Essential/Minimum)

EXPERIENCE:

2-3 years Applicable technical and maintenance experience within a heavy industry, production, mining or pyro-metallurgical environment. (Essential/Minimum) Operational

Duties & Responsibilities
Compliance, Governance and Assurance

  • Ensure compliance to applicable statutory Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)/Mine Health and Safety Acts (MHSA), regulations and prescriptive
  • Adhere to planned maintenance schedules
  • Ensure equipment are maintained to maximum performance according to specifications of instruction manuals and train support personnel accordingly
  • condition Maintain programming of circuits, panels, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), motherboards and relevant equipment according to workshop manuals and instructions

Equipment Control and Maintenance

  • Inspect and repair all assets and equipment and all surrounding infrastructure
  • Conduct monitoring, testing, fault finding and problem solving
  • Adhere to planned maintenance schedules
  • Assume responsibility for maintenance and new installations and maintain all records accordingly
  • Maintain relevant equipment including medium frequency invertors, furnace melt managers and refractory lining monitoring equipment installation
  • Safe operation and control of medium to high voltage switchgear
  • Plan and order parts to minimize production delays due to tool, equipment and instrument failure

Inspection and Control

  • Inspect all tools, equipment, instruments prior to use
  • Inspect all vehicles, machines and mechanical equipment to identify defects
  • Report defects immediately
  • Carry out inspection according to a specific schedule to repair identified defects
  • Receive, complete and return job cards

Safe and Healthy Work Environment

  • Adhere to all health and safety practices and promote good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
  • Address all unsafe practices and potential hazardous situations and rectify/report to superior
  • Comply with Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC) and technical requirements
  • Wear applicable Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Complete Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) on work being performed
  • Attend safety meetings
  • Responsible for safekeeping and maintenance of own PPE

Skills Management

  • Transfer knowledge and give guidance to artisan aides and trainees to improve their skills
  • Co-ordinate maintenance with the operators during stoppages and keep downtime to a minimum

2-3 years Relevant production experience in a Logistics environment. (Essential/Minimum) Operational

Duties & Responsibilities
Administration and Document Control

  • Organize, coordinate and control filing archive to readily access and retrieve logistics data
  • Ensure effective distribution of information
  • Control and document changes as per request
  • Conduct functional audits on documentation
  • Coordinate office administration and control documentation
  • Ensure process/procedural related data on documentation control systems/databases are in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Standardize data input and ensure data is captured accurately
  • File and scan documentation

Compliance, Governance and Assurance

  • Adhere to standards and procedures
  • Comply with environmental legislation
  • Comply with Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)
  • Conduct Planned inspections in all areas of responsibility
  • Coordinate Contractor management activities ensuring adherence to standards

Customer, Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management

  • Effectively manage relationships with both internal and external (Spoornet, product handling, coal trucking company and siding operations) customers to promote department and overall company image
  • Attend to customer requests and complaints, conduct regular follow-ups to ensure problems have been resolved

Internal Business Processes

  • Execute shift production plan
  • Cooperate in improvement teams to implement business improvement
  • Manage operational services to agreed standard
  • Manage and coordinate production related maintenance contractors
  • Liaise with transport contractors regarding production targets and safety standards
  • Monitor truck behaviour on the national roads between mine and siding (compliance to Road Transport Management System (RTMS))
  • Assist Specialist Logistics with day to day management of logistics department on shift
  • Attend to customer requests and complaints, conduct regular follow-ups to ensure problems have been resolved
  • Assist with arranging Client Visits
  • Ensure efficient operation of weighbridges at the mine and siding during their shift
  • Ensure accurate and efficient loading at the Loudoun bin on the mine.
  • Ensure safe road and rail traffic operation
  • Management of coal on-loading and off-loading
  • Reconciliation of coal stock levels at the mine and siding (Stockpile management)
  • Populate logistics reports as per requirement
  • Collaborate with colleagues from different departments in the Integrated Operations (OPS) Hub ensuring smooth operation of the total mine value chain
  • Communicate train schedule with siding operations and monitor Total Train Handling Time closely
  • Manage spending against budget in relation to changes in production volume, with focus on consumables and contractor day works
