The incumbent in this role is responsible

Main objectives of the position

Under the direct supervision of the Mining Technical Services Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for leading the team of mining surveyors and managing all activities related to survey to ensure efficient and safe mining operations, in accordance with Glencore’s requirements and MUMI SARL’s safety standards.

Minimum qualification

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in geomatics, geological sciences or a similar field.

Required Experience

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Payroll Operations Partner to be part of a Global HR and Payroll Services team in Johannesburg, South Africa. The HR Hub will support the HR and payroll administration for multiple Glencore offices globally. We are making a huge change to the enhance the way we deliver HR and Payroll Services to our network of global marketing and corporate offices. These offices vary in size and host employees in their front, middle and back-office roles in the marketing and corporate functions at Glencore.

The HR Hub is based on a shared services model and provides a portfolio of services including Payroll Operations, and HR Services. The Payroll Operations Parter will work regionally delivering the payroll operations to a cluster of locations.  

Primary Task & Key Responsibilities:

  • Within the global payroll operating model, responsible for multiple payrolls operationally, which includes:
  • Ensuring that all relevant payroll related input is loaded to the outsourced service provider’s portal
  • Monitoring integration performance (payroll data from Workday to payroll services provider)
  • Adherence to the payroll processing calendar, e.g. ensuring input deadlines met
  • Validating payroll output, i.e. processing output from payroll services provider
  • Responding to queries on payroll input

Production Superintendent – Blasting

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery and execution of the plan in the blasting section, focusing on the areas of safety and production, through the selection, development, support and optimal utilisation of people and equipment.

  • Implementing and managing resource plans for areas of responsibility and communicating monthly and weekly production targets; and monitoring and offering technical guidance to Supervisors to ensure the safe delivery of production targets.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Regional HR Head – Governance & Systems + GDRC HRBP will lead HR governance, compliance, compensation and benefits management, and HR system operations across Copper Africa, with specific accountability as HR Business Partner for Glencore’s operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (GDRC). KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

HR Governance & Compliance

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in senior HR governance, compliance, compensation and benefits, and HRIS management roles.

  • Developing and maintaining the Marketing iGAAP, which is a detailed interpretation of the Group Accounting Manual. The Marketing iGAAP will take the form of a technical operating manual which includes practical application guidance and relevant examples for the Marketing Business Unit.
  • Preparing training material in various formats including PowerPoint, video tutorials (with assistance) etc. and hosting training sessions for participants.
  • Working together with our Group Reporting Team to analyse the impact of new IFRS standards and/or changes to existing standards on the Marketing Business Unit and updating the Marketing iGAAP accordingly with an interpretation of the accounting policy decisions made by Group Reporting.

EXPERIENCE

  • A qualified SAICA professional with at least 1 – 2 years of post-qualification experience in a technical accounting advisory environment within practice (Big 4 Audit Firm).

  • Experience with IFRS 9 Financial Instruments would be an advantage.
