Remuneration: R60,978.62 pm (basic salary, excluding benefits)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / NQF level 4 plus Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or Information
    Management or Business Management or similar at NQF level 7;
  • 7 – 9 years overall experience in the discipline, of which 4 years’ experience at the middle
    management level;
  • Code 8 driver’s license.

Primary Function:
Direct, lead and manage Revenue Management data governance activities and has the
responsibility for improving the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data
and information assets. This position will focus on establishing and ensuring
adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and
practices, both at the department and Business and Functional area level, to achieve
the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs.
The Deputy Director: Data Governance further serves as a point of escalation for
governance, data quality and protection issues and will work closely with Business and
functional area leadership to improve the quality and values of core data assets,
respond to regulatory protection requirements, as well as support the strategic
requirements of the department.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Contribute to the development of the Directorate’s functional strategic planning;
  • Lead the development of the sub-directorate operational planning process;
  • Lead and facilitate the sub-directorate performance management planning process;
  • Lead and manage the development of the Sub directorate Individual learning Plans (ILP’s
    process;
  • Organize both human and non-human resources for effective implementation of the subdirectorate organizational structure;
  • Leading the Recruitment, Selection & Placement process for sourcing of suitably qualified
    staff for the Sub-Directorate;
  • Lead and direct the development of Data Governance and its functions;
  • Ensure effective control of the sub-directorate of Human Resources;
  • Ensure effective control of the Financial Resource of the Sub Directorate;
  • Ensure effective asset management and control of the Sub-directorate;
  • Implement good governance and effective risk management systems;
  • Ensure effective stakeholder relations and Communication with the sub-directorate;
  • Ensure effective monitoring and reporting of the sub-directorate;
  • Manage specific administrative and reporting requirements associated with the subdirectorate and individual performance;

    applied;
  • Knowledge of Corporate Governance;
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of municipal organization, administration and
    personnel management.
