Based in South Africa, the successful candidate will be part of Glencore’s global Credit Risk team for the oil & gas division.

The global department provides credit risk advisory, reporting and macro-economic analysis for the oil & gas division. It requires diligent credit risk, monitoring and counterparty review analysis. This position requires the individual to deliver routine & ad hoc credit risk reporting to the credit risk team and other internal and external stakeholders. Accurate micro- and macro-economic analysis and data collection for numerous types of reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth credit assessments of counterparties, including financial statement analysis, industry and country risk evaluation, and qualitative assessment of business model, including operations, market position and overall management strategy.
  • Assist in setting reviewing credit limits, in collaboration with commercial teams taking into account payment terms, and risk mitigation tools such as collateral, guarantees and or letters of credit.
  • Periodically and ad-hoc macro-economic and sector reporting.
  • Creation and distribution of Credit Risk reporting (bespoke, cross-group and cross-functional) for the Global Function to senior stakeholders.
  • Validating and explaining Credit Risk data generated from our various systems.
  • Maintaining Data Integrity across our various systems.
  • Assisting in the development of new and existing systems, processes and reports
  • Support and assist in developing credit risk evaluation tools (Credit pricing, Stress testing, …).
  • To communicate effectively with senior management and the credit team.
  • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Any other ad hoc duties that may be required from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant Post graduate qualifications beneficial

Work experience:          

  • Ideally 1-3 years of Credit Risk management experience but not essential
  • Financial Analysis experience would be beneficial
  • Coding skills in VBA, PowerBI, Python advantageous

The incumbent in this role is responsible for taking the lead in the optimisation of coal washing and beneficiation, ensuring that efficiencies are derived in the processes, systems equipment and people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the formulation and updating of the Metallurgy Strategy for all the Operations.
  • Managing technical controls and governance of the Metallurgy discipline across all Operations.

Human Resources Superintendent

The incumbent in this role is responsible for ensuring the constant flow of suitable qualified and experienced talent to meet the human resources requirements of the Operations within the Complex. The incumbent ensures that a positive culture is built and maintained within the Operations, that the Complex’s transformation agenda is driven, that Supervisors and Line Managers are provided support in managing people issues, that employee collective and individual issues are dealt with at the lowest possible level and that the Company’s Human Resources Policies and Procedures as well as legislative requirements are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translating the HR Strategy for the Complex into an action plan for the year for the Operations; providing input into the Life of Mine Plan and liaising with Operations Managers to put together the Labour Budget.
  • Providing input into the Complex’s Social and Labour Plan and Employment Equity Plan and ensuring that the HR elements of these are implemented.
  • Initiating requisitions to recruit and coordinating and overseeing the selection processes for vacancies in areas of responsibility in conjunction with the Group Transactional Services team as well as Hiring Managers within the Operations and own HR Team as relevant.
  • Overseeing that all time and attendance as well as bonus inputs are captured timeously for payroll.
  • Driving a positive Employee Relations Climate within Operations responsible for and ensuring that consultative forums as relevant are functional and meet at agreed upon intervals.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Relevant Degree in Human Resources or any other relevant tertiary qualification.

  • 2 Years’ experience in Human Resources at an HR Officer level.

Minimum qualification

  • Intercultural communication. Good command of French. Fluency in English would be an advantage.

  • Provide key technical support to mining operations in the planning of dewatering systems
  • Compile, validate and load drill data for grade control.
  • Develop short-, medium- and long-term strategies for dewatering and depressurizing the mine’s slopes.
  • Manage stormwater drainage in the mine and plan for changes to the drainage system.
  • Demonstrate leadership and initiative to effectively supervise work teams.
  • Ensure that the hydrology, hydrogeology and dewatering operations of the mine are conducted in accordance with Glencore’s policies, procedures and practices as well as MUMI’s safety requirements.
