Job description

We are looking for a Perishables Warehouse Supervisor to join our team! The Perishables Warehouse Supervisor, along with their team, ensures the accurate and timely processing of all products in and out of the Warehouse.

This position will ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction with a focus on “exceeding” customer expectations.


What you’ll do

This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.

  • Responsible for the handling and physical movement of freight as required
  • Implement work instructions for receiving, labeling, storing, shipping and value add services as required using warehouse best practices
  • Responsible for ensuring all warehouse activities are in compliance with the health and safety act
  • Maximize the storage capacity of the warehouse through the proper management of the product at receipt and during storage
  • Hire, train, reward, discipline employees
  • Ensure stock rotation and management of stock
  • Ensure safety is a number one consideration on the warehouse floor and with drivers
  • Ensure that the cold chain is maintained
  • Administrative duties including scheduling, time cards, maintaining materials inventory and other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Experience: Warehouse Manager, Supervisor

  • Within 25km from job
  • Clear criminal record

Preferences

Meeting the preferences would be a plus, but if you don’t, it won’t stop companies from considering you.

  • EE/AA candidates
  • PC Literate
  • 2+ years’ experience in Logistics and warehousing
  • Basic numeracy and literacy
  • Diploma/Degree in logistics/finance/operations is essential

  • Are you willing to work in a cold storage environment with temperatures ranging from -10 to 34 degrees Celsius (appropriate protective attire provided)?
  • On a scale from 1 to 10, how would you rate your MS Excel skills (1 = very poor and 10 = excellent)
