The facilitation of learning, teaching and assessment activities in undergraduate modules in Digital- and Leadership Acumen and/or Business Ethics.
The participation in the development and implementation of online learning activities and assessments, including the development of simulations.
Supervision of postgraduate students in accountancy and related research fields.
Engaging in research and publishing academic work in accountancy and related research fields in reputable academic and peer-reviewed journals.
Participating in community interaction / social impact initiatives, including involvement in the SAICA’s Thuthuka project.

Contributing to academic administration and service rendering.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
An honours degree or postgraduate diploma (NQF 8) relevant to the subject area of digital acumen.
Academic excellence (evidenced by a full academic transcript) and/or proven academic research experience (a master’s degree in the subject area of finance or business, or PhD, or publication(s) in DHET-approved journal(s)).
Strong MS Excel skills, which specifically include the demonstrated use of PivotTables and the automation of routine tasks using Macros and VBA.
The ability to lecture and function in a multilingual work environment and team.
A commitment to research and social impact/community involvement.
The ability to handle departmental administration.
The ability to work in a team.
As part of the application process, all applicants are required to submit a learning activity prepared on Google Sites, demonstrating their MS Excel skills and aptitude for developing online learning materials. Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Fundraising Initiatives, the Proposal Developer will help shape the University¿s philanthropic success by crafting compelling proposals, concept notes, and donor communications that support major and principal gifts fundraising. Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
Bachelor’s degree (or NQF 7 equivalent qualification) in social sciences, journalism, commerce, or business management.
Three years’ relevant proposal development experience.
Demonstrable ability to enable collaboration and to coordinate multiple parties¿ interests in a request for funding proposals.
Experience in a fundraising, research or technical writing environment with considerable business acumen will be advantageous.
The ability to process, analyse and logically structure project-related information into accesible language that is clear to various funding audiences.
Demonstrable capacity in interpreting analytical reports, strategic plans, evaluations and desktop research.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably also in a second official South African language.
The ability to multitask and work under pressure with speed, structure and accuracy.
Proven skills in using proposal writing to develop existing markets and successfully reach out to untapped markets.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation towards both internal and external stakeholders.

The incumbent will also work with academic and research staff to design causes for support from projects and programmes that require fundraising to be sustainable. While performing these duties, the incumbent will be expected to gain an understanding of the various interests of the donor community and how to harness these, as well as to develop a nuanced understanding of the South African higher education environment.

The fixed-term contract is valid for twelve months.

Duties/Pligte
The incumbent will be responsible for all infrastructure needs and provide the technical support for efficient teaching and research in the department. The main duties include:

Liaising with the University’s service departments, including maintenance services and Facilities Management.

Managing the departmental laboratories and storerooms, which includes equipment, geological and chemical inventories, gas supply and waste disposal.

Reporting to the Rector and Vice-Chancellor, the Development and Alumni Relations Division at Stellenbosch University (SU) is responsible for strategic alumni engagement and fundraising on behalf of the University and is actively engaged in increasing philanthropic and other external support to achieve the vision and goals of the University. Further responsibilities of the Division include stewardship of all donors to the Stellenbosch University Trust, alumni relations programme management and events, as well as providing a professional support service to the University for fundraising and alumni and donor relations.

Primary function of the position:
The DAR Graphic Designer is responsible for creating compelling, DAR brand-aligned visual content that enhances alumni engagement and promotes the University’s alumni and donor relations initiatives. The designer will work collaboratively with the Alumni and Donor Engagement team and other stakeholders to produce print and digital assets for all DAR events, mailers, campaigns, publications, social media, and donor stewardship.
Moreover, the ADE Graphic Designer will ensure brand consistency across all alumni artwork development and adaptations, event collaterals and branded merchandise, as well as the creation of alumni publications. Layout and design of donor engagement publications, event invitations and all associated collateral material. Working with other design and creative freelance colleagues to ensure delivery for all graphic design and visual communication required by DAR within strict deadlines.

Functional role:
Responsible for all DAR graphic design and visual communication elements.
Creating designs and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts.
Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selecting style and size of type.
Creating and improving event visuals and branded elements thereof.
Developing graphics and layouts for publication products, including illustrations, logos, and web-enabled content.
Assisting the Donor and Alumni Engagement team with brand development.
Ensuring quality control of all print / merchandise production for the Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) team.
Providing input into the creative process.
Developing initial concepts, ideas and designs.
Communicating concepts and design expectations to team members, identified third parties and appropriate stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Supporting the Alumni and Donor Engagement (ADE) Director and the Senior Director: DAR with new concept development and design initiatives.
Successfully defining and quantifying tasks, and delivering on time, to deadline, and to quality requirements.

Performing susceptibility testing of isolates using broth microdilution, agar dilution and gradient diffusion, in line with international guidelines.

Preparing isolates for long term storage at -80C.

The Women’s Head Coach of Maties Football at Stellenbosch University (SU) will be responsible for fostering strong working relationships with all relevant coaches within the Club to ensure alignment in coaching philosophy, player development and performance goals.

The Women’s Head Coach reports directly to the Football Club Manager. The Head Coach will also be required to work closely with the Senior Manager: Maties Sport High Performance and all service providers forming part of the performance enhancement team of Maties Football Club and all other relevant coaches and support staff within the Club.


Duties/Pligte
Recruitment and Retention:
Developing, optimising, and implementing a three-yr (2025-2028) Recruitment and Retention Strategy of talent identification, scouting and recruitment that corresponds with SU’s admissions policy and academic requirements, working with the Football Manager.
Developing and implementing a sustainable recruitment plan focused on the Women’s Football Campus League to form part of the Football Club’s overall recruitment strategy.
Developing, optimising, and implementing a three-yr (2025-2028) sport bursary budget in line with Maties Sport allocations that incentivises the recruitment, development and retention of female student-athlete football players.
Developing a long-term player development pathway for first-year women’s football players that focus on sustainable performance enhancement, football skills development and academics success.
Promoting the quality of opportunities for the ACI students as a priority strategic objective.
Working with the Football Sport Manager and the Senior Manager: Maties Sport High Performance in the facilitation, implementation, and monitoring of the annual sport bursary budget according to SU’s and Maties Sport’s requirements for the final approval from the Chief-Director: Maties Sport.
Coaching:
Coaching the Maties Football Women’s high-performance squad for participation in the annual University Sport South Africa (USSA) competitions, annual Varsity Sports Football competitions and respective local leagues for the annual calendar.
Performing required coaching sessions (team, positional, individual) with student-athletes, to be equipped and skilled to create and implement a high-quality coaching programme, to maximise participation and performance of competitive teams.
Continuous development and implementation of long-term women’s football student-athlete development planning and programming.
Participating and contributing to meetings with Maties Football coaches, the club manager and coaching support staff to plan training sessions, identify growth opportunities and enhance the retention of coaching staff. Developing coaching mentorship and continued education plans for the women’s football coaching structures.
Monitoring, evaluating, reporting on and documenting learnings from women’s football activities and programmes, ensuring accurate record-keeping to support concise monthly progress reports and training logs. Actively engaging in continuous personal development and attending relevant training courses to improve coaching delivery and the development of Maties Women’s Football.
Leading, participating, contributing and/or delivering football coaching workshops, forums, clinics or any of such nature that aligns with the Maties Football Club¿s strategic objectives that includes social impact, education, and commercialisation.
Integrated Medicine and Science (IMAS) and Student-Athlete Support:
Managing and implementing an effective IMAS programme to ensure continued enhancement of performance in all competitions and leagues, in close collaboration with the Maties Sport High Performance Unit, and medical staff of Maties Sport and Campus Health Services.
Collaborating with the Maties Football Club Manager and Senior Manager: Maties Sport High Performance to maximise the HP IMAS budget and performance enhancement service interventions.
Implementing, delivering and reporting individual academic and performance assessments of all bursary student-athletes to ensure commitment to the academic and football performance standards and coaching development programmes.
Implementing, delivering and reporting participation of all student-athletes to actively promote the Maties Sport PACER programme aimed at ensuring holistic development.
Implementing, delivering and reporting on initiatives that empower Maties Football coaches, teams and student-athletes to optimise the use of evidence-based interventions aimed at enhancing athletic performance. Contributing to the overall functioning of the Maties Football annual performance plans and its future by accepting responsibilities for sustainability, and adhering to a code of high-performance ethics and conduct.
Promoting drug free sport amongst the student-athletes.
Operational Excellence:
Leading planning meetings with the Maties Football Women’s support staff of the HP squad, and all other teams or players involved in Maties Football and relevant stakeholders.

Being an active participating and contributing member of the Maties Football Club Committee.

Club Operations:
Managing the women’s football coaching staff.
Assisting with and playing an active role to support the club manager to coordinate and implement social impact projects aligned to the strategic objectives of the Football Club and Maties Sport.
Assisting with the planning and implementation of fundraising initiatives to generate revenue for the club and support broader fundraising ventures.
Performance Management:

An annual performance management review will take place and will include the following:
Quarterly work agreement scorecard reviews of the head coach to the Senior Manager: High Performance Unit and Maties Football Club Manager. The quarterly report must be submitted ten days prior to the date of the meeting.

The purpose of the quarterly review ensures regular performance management and serves to assess and review the status of the Head Coach’s performance in line with the work agreement and score card and will determine the continuity of the remainder of the contract period.

Strategic communications and marketing: Aligning the Division’s communication and marketing strategies with that of the RC Operations and Finance; developing and implementing short- and long-term communications plans and campaigns; and ensuring effective liaison and coordination with the Communications Specialist in the Office of the COO and the Corporate Communications and Marketing Division.

The Manager: Network Services and Infrastructure is involved in overseeing the planning, implementation, maintenance and optimisation of the organisation’s network infrastructure and related services. This role involves a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking.

The Manager: Network Services and Infrastructure is responsible for leading a team of network professionals and ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of the organisation’s network infrastructure and services.

This role involves financial planning, strategic planning, project management, technical oversight, and team leadership to drive continuous improvement to meet the SU’s networking, infrastructure and service’s needs.


Duties/Pligte

  1. Project and Maintenance Funding:
    Negotiating and securing funds for network upgrades and maintenance projects.
    Identifying and budgeting projects for network upgrades and maintenance.
    Managing network projects cost effectively within budget.
  2. Network Infrastructure Management:
    Designing, implementing, and maintaining the organisation’s network infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
    Evaluating and recommending new technologies, hardware, and software solutions to enhance network performance and capabilities.
    Managing network configuration, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other networking components.
    Maintaining SU Network Infrastructure Specification, and managing design, installations and deviations of network infrastructure projects accordingly.
  3. Network Connectivity:
    Managing cloud services and service providers, site to site connections, security and monitoring.
    Managing TENET internet links and service providers.
    Managing secure remote access for SU staff, students and associates.
  4. Campus Unified Communication and Collaboration:
    Managing, installing and maintaining Open Scape Voice contracts and systems and Telkom phone lines.
    Managing, installing and maintaining Microsoft Teams for voice services.
  5. Network Services Management:
    Overseeing the deployment and management of network services such as DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VoIP.
    Ensuring the proper functioning of network-related services and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
    Managing campus network connections and access to cloud services.
  6. Network Security:
    Developing and enforcing network security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data and prevent unauthorised access.
    Managing and designing network firewalls (on-prem and cloud), including network layout and configuration according to current security standards and policies.
    Staying updated on emerging security threats and implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
  7. Monitoring and Optimisation:
    Implementing monitoring tools to proactively identify and address network performance issues.
    Analysing network traffic patterns and optimising network configurations to enhance performance and efficiency.
  8. Documentation and Reporting:
    Maintaining accurate documentation of network architecture, configurations, and changes.
    Generating regular reports on network performance, uptime, and security incidents for management review.
  9. Project Management:
    Planning and executing network infrastructure projects such as upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
    Defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
    Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  10. Team Leadership:
    Managing all staff appointments in the Department.
    Managing all job descriptions, key performance areas and performance evaluations for staff in the Department.
    Leading and mentoring a team of network engineers and technicians, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
    Delegating tasks effectively, managing workloads, and ensuring the team’s productivity and collaboration.
  11. Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
    Managing tenders for supply, installation and maintenance of network infrastructure and services according to the procurement policies of the SU.
    Negotiating and managing SLA¿s with suppliers of network equipment and services.
    Collaborating with vendors to procure networking equipment and services, ensuring the best value and quality.
    Liaising with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and aligning network strategies accordingly.
  12. Data Centres Infrastructure:
    Managing SU data centres¿ infrastructure on campus, including Tygerberg and DR site.
    Managing and monitoring power, generator, UPS, aircon, fire and alarm systems in data centres.
    Managing SLAs with our Facilities Management Division for electricity, UPS, cooling, alarms, etc.
    Managing space and power allocation in data centres.
    Managing network and internet services in data centres.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with six years’ relevant experience (a masters degree is preferred); OR a National Diploma in Information Technology or a related field with ten years’ relevant experience.
Eight years’ experience in network engineering, financial planning, and leading and managing a team of network professionals. Strong knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and best practices.
Experience with network security principles and practices.
Experience in cloud network setup, integration and management.
Experience in relevant vendor and stakeholder management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
