Animal Welfare Assistants (3 vacancies) 

Vacancy Location: Cassandra, Kimberly

Job title: Animal Welfare Assistant

Duties:

1. Basic animal care
2. Administration of prescribed medicines
3. Wound care
4. Assist Supervising Veterinarian
5. Vaccinations and medicines under Vet control
6. Implementation of parasite control
7. Microchipping
8. Perform any duties authorised in terms of legislation
9. Euthanasia

Requirements:

1. Relevant registration with South African Veterinary Council
2. A passion for animals
3. Must speak & write English & Afrikaans; any additional languages will be an advantage
4. Willing to work after hours and on Saturdays & Sundays
5. A valid unendorsed driver’s license
6. Clean & valid Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)
7. Excellent computer & administration skills

The employer will apply for extension of registration to perform euthanasia on the employee’s behalf.

Veterinary Surgeon – Dubai, United Arab Emirates

We are looking for an experienced general practice veterinary surgeon, with interest and skills in orthopaedics, to join our current 8- member veterinary team. We want an individual who is fundamentally driven to provide excellent medical and surgical care for their patients and has keen people- and customer-handling skills. And we like to work collaboratively.

Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience and will be measurably above average by UAE standards for the successful candidate, at whichever appropriate salary level. Our working hours are humane (by managerial dictate!) ~ promise! We are open 24 hours a day and all our vets take turns working nights – this equates to 4 nights a month, followed by 7 days off, then back into
the day shift at 5 days a week. Since switching to nights –our vets have never looked back and are extremely happy with the change – we can put you in direct contact with our vets if you would like to hear more about what THEY think and feel about things.

We have all the modern diagnostic toys and tools that a vet who enjoys doing quality work could want.
We currently have FIVE South African vets working at the clinic – so you know we must be doing something right! It can be a big change, but if you would like to talk to one of our vets, we can certainly arrange for that.
