Responsibilities
- To conduct basic and intermediate guided activities in the gate/camp.
- In the absence of the Snr. Field Guide will plan and organise camp/gate based guided activities for the smooth operations.
- Conduct administration of the guiding activities at the camp.
- Market guided activities with the intention to improve revenue at the camp/gate.
- Present environmental interpretation to create awareness and a sustainable environmental culture.

Information Officer: Operations Room
A vacancy exists for an Information Officer: Operations Room in Table Mountain National Park. The appointed candidate will report to the Operations Room Control Officer. - National Diploma (NQF 6) in Conservation/Policing/Information Management or equivalent thereof.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant working experience.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the data capturing from various sources onto Cmore and other software platforms.

- Ensure efficient and accurate information management.
- Create and maintain information dashboards for dissemination to internal and external stakeholders.

Tourism Monitors Programme
The appointment of 250 participants for the implementation of the SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL PARKS (SANParks) Tourism Safety Monitor Programme under the Department of Tourism.
People living with disabilities are also encouraged to apply. The Department of Tourism hereby invites applications from interested candidates to be part of the SANParks Tourism Monitors Programme for seven (7) months. Candidates are encouraged to apply only to municipalities and establishments within their residential/ local areas. Please note that successful candidates will be required to sign a 7-month contract with SANParks, appointed by the Department of Tourism, and deployed at attractions/sites closer to their residence. The programme will be implemented for 7 months, which includes theoretical training and practical experience. The Tourism Monitors Programme forms Part of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). The programme will include theoretical training and practical experience. The Tourism Monitors Programme forms Part of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP), and a daily rate of R200.00 will apply.
Requirements
- Be a South African citizen (Certified copy of an Identity Document).
- Be unemployed youth between the ages of 18 to 35.
- Be in possession of a matric certificate or any equivalent qualifications.
- Be literate and conversant in English.
- Tertiary qualifications in tourism or environmental-related fields will be an added advantage.
- Stay within a 40km – 100km radius of the attractions/ sites/National Park. Proof of residence will be required (e.g. municipality bill or letter from a tribal authority or ward councillor.
- Be able to work flexible hours (e.g., weekends, public holidays and as-and-when required.
- Have a passion or interest in the tourism sector.
- Must have own reliable transport to and from workplace/ station.
- Where possible, accommodation will be provided in camps away from the access gate.
- Shortlisted candidates may be subjected to fitness tests, which may include: 2,4 km run, ability to do 25 pushups and 25 sit-ups, which should be done within a specific time frame.
- Successful candidates are then granted an interview.

Animal Health Technology Internship Program: Fixed-Term Contract
An internship position exists for an Animal Health Technologist to assist in capture, holding, transport and relocation of animals according to agreed deliverables at Veterinary Wildlife Services Kimberley Office. Twenty-four (24) months fixed-term contract.

- A National Diploma in Animal Health Technology.
- Grade 12.
- 1 years’ experience in working with wildlife or livestock will be an added advantage.
- Job-related knowledge of wildlife industry standard operations procedures.

- Tranquilize wildlife as and when required.

- To raise any extra charges and to ensure outstanding monies are collected and processed according to company policy.
- To assist guests with amendments to reservations and special requests and closing work shifts on SANParks reservation system.

A vacancy exists for One (1) Gate Officials in Table Mountain National Park. The successful candidate will report to the relevant Line Manager. The successful candidate will have to provide their own accommodation as there is no official accommodation in the park.

South African National Parks External Bursary Programme: Call For 2026 Intake
The South African National Parks (SANParks) is looking for aspiring youth entering their first year of undergraduate studies in the 2026 academic year to join our external bursary programme.
What SANParks does
South African National Parks (SANParks) was established in terms of the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, 2003 (Act No 57 of 2003). The primary mandate of SANParks is to oversee the conservation of South Africa’s biodiversity, landscapes, and associated heritage assets through a system of national parks. It also must ensure that South Africans participate and get involved in biodiversity initiatives, and that all its operations have a synergistic existence with neighbouring communities for their educational and socioeconomic benefit.
One of the strategic directions of SANParks is growing community support, providing access, benefit-sharing and benefit local communities, thus the call for applications for the bursary opportunity. Senior Manager: Intergrated Land Use Management
