Job Purpose
To undertake vehicle body work repairs as directed.

Key Responsibility Areas
Strip and assemble bodies (Cab and Rear Bodies).
Remove and replace windscreens
Set doors and window frames
Undertake specialised bodybuilding repairs, gas and electrical Arc welding.
Prepare panels and make sheet metal parts for vehicles.
Fabricate metal parts by hands and machine and modify plant and vehicles as required.
Modify plant and vehicles as required.
Join panels, grind and / or file and fill.
Fit glass and windows onto body by means of rubber glazing.
De-rust vehicles, plant and equipment.
Manufacture, design and build new vehicle bodies.
Undertake minor electrical and mechanical repairs to vehicles.
Repair air pressure and hydraulic door operating mechanism.

Essential Requirements
Trade Tested Artisan (Body Builder or Panel Beater or Automotive Body Repairer).
Valid motor vehicle driving license (Code EC).
Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
3 Years relevant post apprenticeship experience.

Preferred Requirements

4 years relevant post apprenticeship experience.
