Job description

The baker will be responsible for baking a variety of products on a daily basis. This includes reading and following the recipe, using the bakery equipment to proof and bake the product, and presenting it in the display for the customers. Bakers need to uphold a tight work and production schedule and ensure that all products that are in the range are present at all times. Bakers may also be required to produce special orders for customers and do weekly stock takes and order from suppliers.

Required to work different shifts across trading and non-trading hours, including Sundays and Public Holidays.


What you’ll do

  • Being able to follow the recipes using all the correct quantities of ingredients as well as creating new recipe templates for all new products before the products are made.
  • Being able to follow a production schedule with all products stocked by the bakery. Having energy to produce products from an early hour.
  • Take accurate stock take on a weekly basis.
  • Tell the bakery manager when an ingredient is almost out of stock and order from the correct supplier
  • Assist in the preparation of various baked goods
  • Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
