TAU Mining Consultants (Pty) Ltd. currently has the following vacancy available at our Head
Office in Woodmead, Johannesburg:
DEPARTMENT: HUMAN RESOURCES

Nature of employment: Permanent (Full-time, office-based position)
Payroll category: Monthly salaried staff

Job purpose: The HR Officer is responsible for providing human resources support across the
organisation. This role ensures efficient HR operations, compliance with HR policies and
legislation, effective administration of HR processes, and day-to-day support to employees and
managers. The HR Officer assists with recruitment, employee relations, performance
processes, HR reporting, and HR administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. HR Support
  • Provide day-to-day HR operational support to employees and line managers.
  • Assist with implementing HR processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as delegated by the HR Manager/s.
  1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Coordinate recruitment activities including advertising vacancies, screening CVs,
    scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Prepare onboarding packs, and facilitate smooth induction of new employees.
  • Maintain the recruitment tracking system and assist with workforce planning information
    gathering.
  • Contribute to employer branding strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  1. Employee Relations
  • Serve as a first point of contact for general HR inquiries.
  • Assist with facilitating disciplinary and grievance processes in line with company policies.
  • Draft notices, minutes, and documentation for ER processes.
  • Support the HR Manager with matters referred to external bodies such as the CCMA.
  1. Performance Management
  • Assist with the coordination and administration of the performance appraisal process when
    required.
  • Support the tracking and submission of performance documents and follow up with
    managers when required.
  • Provide administrative support for training and development initiatives.
  1. HR Policy, Compliance and Reporting
  • Ensure employee awareness of HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with labour legislation and HR standards.
  • Support Employment Equity (EE) and BBBEE administration and reporting.
  • Assist with preparing standard HR reports for management as required.
  • Support internal audits and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategies to meet the company’s BBBEE
    SED objectives.
  1. HR Administration & Systems
  • Assist with the facilitation of employee changes such as promotions, transfers, and
    terminations.
  • Maintain and update employee personnel files on the HRIS.
  • Provide accurate data to support payroll processing and help resolve payroll queries.
  • Assist with administering employee benefits programmes.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate or equivalent
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or related field.
  • 3 – 5 years of HR generalist experience
  • Strong knowledge of labor legislation, HR best practices, and HR technologies. (ERS &
    Sage 300 People will be advantageous)
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
  • This position requires occasional travel to various company sites and operational locations.
    A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed are essential.
  • Clean criminal record.
