The Energy business manages the marketing and sales of all Sasol’s oil, gas and electricity products in Southern Africa. In addition, our mandate is to oversee the growth of Sasol’s direct liquid fuels marketing presence, with a strong bias toward retail outlets in Southern Africa.
Internationally, we are responsible for Sasol’s gas-to-liquid (GTL) business ventures based on our proprietary technology, creating higher-value products.
Purpose of Job
The Expeditor ensures seamless execution of the transport schedule by tracking and tracing delivery vehicles, engaging with Planners, third-party transporters, Sasol Distribution Controllers, the Contact Centre, and Commercial & Mobility Account Managers etc. The role is responsible for coordinating daily operations, resolving deviations, and ensuring that customer orders are delivered on time, in full, and safely.
The Expeditor also proactively addresses operational challenges, provides continuous updates to stakeholders, and contributes to process improvement through data analysis and effective root cause investigations.
Key Accountabilities
1. Transport Execution & Stakeholder Engagement
• Track and trace deliveries; re-planning, engage with 3rd party transporters, Sasol Distribution Controllers, Customers and the Contact Centre on deviations, incidents, or schedule changes.
• Check customer Automatic Tank Gaude (ATG)/ Dip levels against scheduled orders to prevent Left on Boards (LOBs).
• Proactively manage 2-hourly updates from transporters, escalate delays, and arrange alternatives (replacement trucks, re-routes, gantry breakdowns, etc.) and keep customers updated.
• Ensure continuous safety and operational decision-making during protests, incidents, or breakdowns to protect drivers, equipment, and product integrity.
• Create and manage drains when LOBs are redirected.
• Amend shipments or trips for order cancellations, emergency requests etc.
• Escalate customer site delays by involving relevant Key Account Managers.
• Manage updates and report via Schedule Management Tool (SMT).
• Month end delivery reconciliations
2. Queries & Issue Resolution
• Handle non-delivery, late delivery, cancellation, emergency order, and volume query escalations.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints and provide prompt feedback.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
3. Administration & Reporting
• Resolve/ manage error logs, open orders, drain orders, and update delivery volumes.
• Complete all SAP/ Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) updates (vehicle changes, drains, re-plans, reroutes etc) before end of shift.
• Ensure accurate and thorough shift handover, including safety issues, incidents, and operational challenges and critical information.
• Contribute to performance reporting and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) monitoring.
4. Fleet & Resource Adjustments
• Manage truck changes due to breakdowns, driver availability, or delays.
• Ensure smooth replacement planning to minimize delivery impact.
5. Continuous Improvement & Compliance
• Participate in operational meetings and contribute to updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) /work instructions (WI).
• Review performance data and drive improvement.
• Support training and change management processes for expediting operations.
Formal Education and Working Experience
• Minimum: Grade 12 with 3–5 years’ experience in Expediting or Customer Demand Fulfilment or Logistics.
• Preferred: Diploma in Logistics or equivalent.

Purpose of Job
Protect, enhance and grow Sasol’s reputation by leading external media relations across South Africa and key international markets. Operate the central media office: plan the proactive news agenda, develop and place stories, manage responses to media enquiries, and provide clear, timely guidance to executives and subject matter experts.
Align all media activity with Corporate Branding and Communication, ensuring consistent messaging that reflects Sasol’s strategy and priorities. Lead issues and crisis communication protocols, including holding statements, rapid response, and media training support for leaders
Key Accountabilities
- Media strategy and agenda: Develop and implement a group media strategy aligned to Sasol’s strategy within Group Communication and Brand Management strategic objectives. - Business intelligence and monitoring: Design and manage real-time media monitoring (including social and digital), produce analysis and insights, and co-create external landscape reports as needed.
- Proactive media relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key journalists and outlets locally and internationally (with regional and agency support). Draft and place media content; coordinate interviews and briefings.
- Messaging and content: Develop, maintain and update key messaging, holding statements and FAQs for priority issues and strategic focus areas; ensure accessibility to business, subject matter experts and issue-owner teams.
- Issues and crisis management: Lead media response in crises and sensitive issues; implement protocols, escalation paths and approval processes; execute mitigation and response plans; prepare leaders for media engagements.
- Cross-functional liaison: Interface with Investor Relations, Finance, Group Strategy, HR/Employee Relations, Government, Stakeholder Relations & Policy Advocacy, business unit and project teams to ensure factual accuracy, alignment and readiness.
- Governance and policy: Maintain media policies and guidelines; drive awareness and compliance across regions and sites; ensure conformance to brand and CI.
- Project and budget management: Scope, schedule and deliver multi-disciplinary media projects; track media-related budgets as needed, including cost management of service providers.
- External service providers: Manage contracts, briefing and delivery of work from agencies and vendors (media monitoring, PR, design, digital, photography, research) within budget.

Purpose of Job
Provide end‑to‑end strategic communication support to Sasol’s Business Building, Strategy and Technology (BBST) portfolio, ensuring consistent, high‑quality, and insight‑driven communication across internal and external channels. Purpose of Job
• To implement a risk-based approach for Energy products throughout the product’s lifecycle to enable the safe, sustainable and compliant management of products.
• To determine the legal landscape for Energy products.
• To develop or coordinate the development of Product Hazard Communication documentation and to obtain relevant scientific Chemical information required.
• To ensure the implementation of the Responsible Care ® Product Stewardship management practice standard for Energy.

Key Accountabilities
Determine the Legal compliance landscape for SBU products:
• Interpret local, national and international chemical control legislation; requirements and risks for all Energy products
• Review and maintain legal risk register and controls, and facilitate implementation of recommended controls for Energy
• Implement and maintain compliance programmes to address Energy product regulatory compliance
Manage legal compliance of Sasol Products:
• Coordinate the gathering of information for the management of customer product regulatory inquiries and for determining the product legal risk landscape
• Respond to customer product regulatory inquiries for all Energy products
• Develop declarations and letters to address customer product regulatory inquiries within the governance framework and positions for Product Stewardship
• Coordinate the obtaining of legal advice to address inquiries within the governance frameworks for Product Stewardship
• Develop and facilitate approval of the relevant compliance documentation, such as annual declarations (e.g. Conflict Minerals Declaration)
Sasol Product Hazard Communication compilation and maintenance:
• Compile and/or review Product Hazard Communication documentation within the governance framework and quality system for Product Stewardship
• Gather of product hazard data for the purposes of Product Hazard Communication documentation
• Maintain clear, accurate, and auditable records of the classification methodology applied to each product in accordance with GHS requirements
• Communicate Hazard Communication documentation to relevant stakeholders and publish on applicable system(s)
• Review and approval of product labels where relevant (e.g. lubricant labels)
Implementation of Responsible Care® Product Stewardship requirements:
• Interpret and analyse the Responsible Care® Product Stewardship requirements for Energy within the governance framework for Product Stewardship
• Ensure the implementation and maintenance of Responsible Care® Product Stewardship controls for Energy
• Participate in the Responsible Care® Product Stewardship audit for Energy and ensure response to findings
• Maintain a repository of suitable product defense supporting information (Product Portfolio) to protect Energy against product misinformation, regulatory challenges, or reputational risks
• Actively drive and/or support and/or participate in product advocacy initiatives to raise awareness regarding product opportunities and/or risks, including product legal compliance and/or sustainability risks
Product risk management and assurance:
• Ensure the adherence to the Product Stewardship requirements of the Stage-gate and BD&I model for product development and/or changes through the fit for purpose protocol
• Support the review and customization of KUE 24 (Product Stewardship KUE) for Energy departments
• Participate and support relevant audits and assurance initiatives with regards to Product Stewardship elements
Product Stewardship Management and Reporting:
• Provide input and support in annual objective and target setting
• Responsible for all relevant reporting against Key Performance Areas
• Maintain and develop relevant product stewardship procedures, work instructions and/or practice notes as / when required
• Maintain product stewardship data and document management in line with relevant policies and software platforms
• Support the investigation of product stewardship incidents and sharing of lessons learnt in line with the prevailing governance frameworks
