VACANCY
COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST (H08) – GAUTENG PROVINCE

Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications, the incumbent will be based at Shared Services Centre, Weltevredenpark.
Responsible for:
 Supporting and implementing effective and impactful communication and publicity opportunities, using the most appropriate communications channels such as media, releases and articles, targeted engagements and interaction sessions
 Developing plans and implementing communications plans aligned with organizational objectives
 Implementing communication strategies for delivery and corporate culture and business strategy
 Support change Management and leadership communication initiatives
 Continuous improvement of the internal and external communication functions to meet the needs of all stakeholders
 Supporting Communication for corporate events and stakeholder engagements
 Supporting line managers to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders
 Monitoring external stakeholder perceptions regarding the company in order to pre-empt potential crisis communication situations
 Maintaining relevant statistics and information relating to the overall operation of the communication function

Qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience required:
 Bachelor Degree/ Diploma in Communications/Public Relations/Journalism/Marketing/Corporate communication or related field
 Minimum 5 years’ experience in communications, public relations or marketing role
 Experience in corporate communication or agency environments is advantageous
 Experience in variety of internal and external communication tools (print and electronic)
 Extensive knowledge of branding principles and tactics through multimedia
 Excellent written, verbal communication skills, content writing and editing
 Media relations, understanding of corporate brand management and reputation management.
 Event communication coordination
 Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
 Basic design or content management systems (advantageous)
 Strong attention to detail, organisational and project management skills
 Strategic thinking, creativity and problem-solving
 Ability to work independently, under pressure and meet deadlines
 Stakeholder relationship management

MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT – GAUTENG PROVINCE

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

 Executing inspection and maintenance of assigned auxiliary and main equipment in accordance
with maintenance strategy to meet operational availability targets.
 Repairing breakdowns to reduce production down time.
 Executing work duties in accordance with company policies and procedures
 Maintaining Safety, Health and Environmental standards.
 Participating in the maintenance team’s initiatives to set and meet continuous improvement targets.

Experience and Qualifications:
 Grade 12/ Amended Senior Certificate/ NCV Level 4/ Technical Matric – N3 (4 technical subjects

  • 2 official languages).
     Minimum 3 years’ experience in heavy industries
     Experience in using specialised tools and equipment

Skills and Knowledge:
 Good understanding of maintenance systems
 Knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards
 Valid Driver’s License

SECTION ENGINEER/SPECIALIST – WORKS MANAGEMENT– NORTH WEST PROVINCE

Location:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the incumbent will be based at the Dudfield Plant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
 Ensuring the reliability of the plant assets, ensuring that the assets are maintained to the
AfriSam standards, implementing the Enterprise Asset Management Strategy.
 Ensuring that there is suitable equipment to deliver the required product in an efficient and
economical way.
 Managing the activities and outcomes required to ensure the successful implementation,
maintenance, and use of the STEMP’s.
 Acquiring and maintaining employee engagement in the maintenance department, to ensure the
realization of all AfriSam Visions, Values, and Strategies.
 Managing and performing activities and outcomes required to comply with the MH&S Act and
regulations as per this position’s legal appointment as well as the company adopted
safety, health and environmental strategy.

Qualifications, competencies, knowledge and experience required:
 Grade 12
 Engineer – Qualified Engineer with at least 10 Years’ post qualification Experience.
OR
 Specialist – Qualified Artisan with a National diploma and at least 15 Years’ post
qualification Experience
 In depth skill in the reliability and or traditional maintenance, function of large mine and or
factory equipment.
 Good Experience of drying equipment and their maintenance techniques,
repairs, diagnostics and fault analysis.
 Knowledge of complex rotating equipment and their maintenance techniques, repairs,
diagnostic and fault analysis.
 Good Technical reporting experience.
 Practical knowledge of CMMS, PMMS and PMS systems like SAP, REL-FMRA & KM.
 Maintenance Skills for Cement Plant Specific Equipment.
 Practical knowledge of CMMS systems like SAP.
 Valid Driver’s License.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
 Leading the Failure Reporting, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Failure Mechanism & Risk
Analysis (FMRA), and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
 Ensuring availability and effectiveness of adopted maintenance systems like CMMS, PMMS, and
SAP.
 Facilitating and managing technical sessions focused on eliminating root causes and failure
mechanisms.
 Developing and managing skill requirements for maintenance tasks ensuring sustainable
execution.
 Supporting continuous improvement and risk mitigation across all business-critical assets.

Qualifications, competencies, knowledge and experience required:
 Grade 12
 Engineer – Qualified Engineer with at least 10 Years’ post qualification Experience.
OR
 Specialist – Qualified Artisan with a National diploma and at least 15 Years’ post
qualification Experience
 Proven track record in Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action Systems.
 Sound knowledge of rotating equipment, diagnostics, and cement plant machinery (e.g., kilns,
mills, crushers, conveyors).
 Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and CMMS platforms (SAP, REL-FMRA, KM).
 Strong communication and facilitation skills.
 Valid driver’s license.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
 Carrying legal responsibility under the MH&S Act.
 Adhering to and manage the Regulations according to the MH&S Act and Company
policies and procedures for all Electrical Installations.
 Managing the execution of electrical and instrumentation related maintenance activities and
strategies to meet equipment availability and reliability targets.
 Managing and implementing agreed electrical Capex and Plant projects.
 Maintaining Safety, Health and Environmental standards.
 Participating in the Maintenance Team’s initiatives to set and meet continuous improvement
targets.

Qualifications, competencies, knowledge and experience required:
 Grade 12.
 Engineer – Qualified Engineer with at least 10 Years’ post qualification Experience.
OR
 Specialist – Qualified Artisan with a National diploma and at least 15 Years’ post
qualification Experience.
 Sufficient knowledge of electrical, instrumentation and automation systems in heavy industry 
to do proper plant inspection, maintenance and repairs.
 CMMS experience, in the Plant Maintenance and Services fields – currently SAP. 
 Experience in AWM–EAM Maintenance Work Processes. 
 Experience in AWM–EAM Maintenance Planning and Scheduling. 
 Knowledge of the Process and Quality processes within the facility or factory. 
 Good Experience in Technical Reporting.
 Valid driver’s license.
