Role Purpose
This role is responsible for developing and managing pricing strategies and risk models for both new and existing commercial short-term insurance business. The incumbent will ensure pricing supports portfolio profitability, sustainability, and growth. A key aspect of the role includes translating complex actuarial concepts into clear, client-friendly language and supporting the development and enhancement of commercial insurance products.

Requirements
Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Business Science, or Business Mathematics.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the short term insurance industry within:
– actuarial modelling,

       - pricing, or

        - product development.

Exposure to commercial short term insurance is advantageous.
Demonstrated expertise in advanced pricing and product development is an added advantage.
Duties & Responsibilities
Pricing & Modelling

Develop, maintain, and enhance market leading commercial short term insurance pricing models.
Identify and incorporate data improvements and rating factor enhancements into pricing models.
Monitor model performance against actual experience and proactively address identified weaknesses.
Implement pricing strategies for new and existing business to support growth and profitability objectives.
Product Development & Governance

Support the development of innovative commercial insurance products and maintain existing product sets.
Ensure strong governance is applied to all pricing development, model changes, and deployment processes.
Business Support

Provide data driven insights and analytical support to business stakeholders.
Communicate complex actuarial and pricing concepts clearly to non technical audiences.
Competencies

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Results driven mindset with a focus on quality and accuracy.
Knowledge Requirements

Actuarial modelling principles and methodologies.
Statistical analysis and predictive modelling techniques.
Short term insurance pricing and product development knowledge.
Skills

Proficiency in SQL, SAS, R, Python, Willis Towers Watson, Earnix, and AKUR8.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office Suite capabilities.
Experience in programming and working with large datasets to extract commercial value.
