Responsibilities
● Support the Head of Sport in the running and development of the school’s sporting programme across all four terms.
● Take responsibility for selected sports as Teacher in Charge, ensuring strong organisation and effective
delivery.
● Oversee and teach the Physical Education programme, ensuring lessons are engaging, inclusive, and
developmentally appropriate.
● Lead and manage the Mini Sport programme, fostering confidence, participation, and enjoyment in younger children.
● Coach sport to a high standard and contribute to the development of both boys and girls across a range of disciplines.
● Manage the administrative requirements of the sports department efficiently and professionally.
● Contribute fully to the co-curricular life of the school and to school events and activities.
● If applicable, fulfil the role of Boarding Housemaster by providing pastoral care, mentorship, and support to boarders, while working closely with the Head of Boarding to help create a safe, nurturing, and positive boarding environment.

Requirements
● Relevant teaching qualification, preferably with Physical Education specialisation.
● SACE registration and eligibility to work in South Africa.
● Experience teaching Physical Education and coaching sport across the Junior and Senior Primary phases.
● Demonstrated success in leading or supporting PE and Mini Sport programmes, coaching sport, and
managing sports administration.
● Confident use of ICT and varied teaching strategies.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Founded in 1896 and set in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, Michaelhouse is a leading Anglican Independent senior Boarding School for boys from Grade 8 to Grade 12.

The Michaelhouse Old Boys’ Club plays an important role in supporting the ongoing connection between Old Boys and the school community, while developing initiatives that strengthen engagement and sustainability for the Club.

We are seeking an organised and proactive individual to assist with the coordination and delivery of several key operational initiatives during a transitional period for the Club.

This fixed-term role will focus primarily on project coordination and operational support across a number of current Club initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with the President, President-Elect and Associate Director, while collaborating on a day-to-day basis with the Club Administrator, Friendraiser, and Club Treasurer, as well as the broader volunteer leadership structures of the Club.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Michaelhouse Old Boys’ Club and contribute to initiatives supporting the broader Michaelhouse community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Coordination and Management
Assist in coordinating and delivering a number of key initiatives currently underway within the Old Boys’ Club, including:
• The Meadows merchandise range
• The Mangoes (Old Boys’ Club commercial initiative)
• The implementation and coordination of a new income-generating initiative for the Club

Operational Support
Assist in ensuring the smooth running of ongoing Club projects by:
• Working closely with the Club Administrator and Friendraiser on operational coordination
• Assisting with planning, communication, and project follow-through
• Helping ensure that agreed objectives and timelines are achieved

Additional Responsibilities
• Supporting additional initiatives that may arise during the contract period
• Working on the Michaelhouse property and being present as required for operational support

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & TRAINING:
• A relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
• Additional training or experience in project coordination/ management, marketing, events, fundraising, or operations would be beneficial.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in project coordination or project management
• Exposure to marketing, fundraising, events, or operational management
• Experience working within small teams or collaborative environments
• Experience engaging with multiple stakeholders, including volunteers or committees, would be advantageous.

The Data Administrator is a key member of the Academic Office, and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data. We are seeking an organised, analytical, and detail-oriented individual, to commence in May/ June 2026.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):

• Liaise with Admissions Administrator to ensure that all pupil data is captured.
• Transfer data from the School Management System: ADAM to the Student modules.
• Administer and update student and staff data on an ongoing basis.
• Responsible for setting up all the following academic systems: pupil timetables, class lists, subject choices, quarter and examination reports etc.
• Responsible for publishing reports at the end of every quarter and doing a roll over for the next quarter/ year roll over.
• Assist academic staff, HODs, housemasters and managers to ensure smooth running and data integrity of information on ADAM.
• Responsible for setting up the following extra-mural systems: sports lists, clubs and societies, outdoor education, amongst others on ADAM.
• Liaise with the Finance Department to ensure correct information is provided for any possible charges.
• Liaise with housemasters to ensure that all pupil matters are regularly updated.
• Storing, managing and deleting data in accordance with POPIA legislation.
• Liaise with ADAM providers regarding SASAMS and ensuring SASAMS information is up-to-date.
• IEB registration administration
• Assisting with academic administration and support activities as required.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the Learning Support Department.
• Admin staff rotation schedule to cover in the holidays as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & TRAINING:

• Matric as well as additional administrative or relevant qualification/s
• Strong competency and experience with IT systems, software, and data management tools.
• ADAM or other School Management System experience would be advantageous.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

• Excellent interpersonal skills to develop purposeful working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
• Strong technical proficiency in Excel and data manipulation.
