Manager Operational Risk (5 years Fixed Term Contract)
Requirement Overview
To perform operational risk assessments, with the objective of ensuring that risks within operations are identified, assessed, adequately mitigated and monitored. Furthermore, the manager: operational risk will develop processes, and plans to ensure that the broader risk management strategy is realised; and lastly, the role will assist the SM with design and implementation of risk management initiatives to ensure a robust risk management system
Roles & Responsibilities
Roll-out/ implementation of the activities/ initiatives identified on the risk implementation plan
The risk implementation plan is developed and approved annually. The plan outlines the activities the risk management functions will undertake over the year in pursuit of risk management objectives as articulated in the risk management strategy and policy.
· Maintain up to date and relevant operational risk profiles for the portfolios assigned, by
ü Facilitate identification and assessment of operational risks,
ü relevant root causes, current controls and future mitigations for the risks
ü Monitoring implementation of mitigations for the gaps/ exposures noted
ü Evaluating whether the mitigations identified and subsequently implemented are yielding the desired results
· Advise on the adequacy and effectiveness of organisational processes introduced to mitigate risks
· Provide advice with respect to organisational risks
· Continuously scan the internal and external environment AND analyze the risk landscape or environment, collect the required data from all relevant sources and provide solutions thereof (ensure that the data is verified and is relevant/ fit for purpose)
· Provide periodic progress reports to management on the implementation of mitigating action plans and update the risk register as appropriate
· Assist management in setting the business unit specific risk tolerance/ appetite and establish related risk strategies and processes to manage the appetite levels
· Periodically monitor the risk and incident reporting tool
ü Analyze the risks and incidents reported
ü Escalated reported cases to respective process owners
ü Support process owners in developing appropriate responses to the reported risks and incidents
ü Continuously follow-up with action owners on the responses agreed to
ü Regularly provide feedback on the status of resolution of the reported risk and incidents to the individuals that logged the incident as well as to any other relevant reporting structure.
Stakeholder Engagement
· Develop and maintain a portfolio stakeholder interaction and communication plan.
· Develop a thorough understanding of the needs of the different risk management stakeholders.
· Develop programs and initiatives to address the needs of the stakeholders.
· Communicate risk management strategies with all stakeholders.
· Provide advice on the application of best practice principles to stakeholders.
· Develop and maintain good working relations with assigned Risk Champions.
· Ensure that Risk Champions have an appropriate understanding of the activities that they are required to undertake in support of risk management function.
· Regularly develop presentations and training materials for roll-out at workshops, induction sessions, etc.
· Liaise with other risk and ethics function personnel to ensure the achievement of the business unit’s goals and objectives.
Ad-hoc projects
· Perform any other ad-hoc project/ request as requested by line manager.
Financial Management
· Assist in managing and reporting on the centre budget in accordance with the approved finance policies.
Ad hoc projects
· Perform all SM and BUL’s projects as and when required.
Skills, Experience & Education
Formal Education
Degree in Commerce, ethics, risk management, project management, strategy or appropriate qualification advantage.
Knowledge of ISO 31000, and COSO framework will be an Familiarity with the public sector will be beneficial advantage.
Exposure to SOQM and other financial sector compliances will be an advantage.
Experience
3-5 years’ experience in governance, and risk, or related environment.
3-5 years’ experience conducting risk assessments.

Project Manager
Requirement Overview
The purpose of this role is to manage the planning and delivery of the information technology (IT) projects in accordance with the AGSA Project Management Framework and other applicable IT standards.
This includes risk management, project change control and ensuring that projects are completed on time, on budget, to quality standards, and within agreed scope. The incumbent is also responsible for applying the approved methodologies and software tools in order to plan, control, and monitor people, processes, and other components necessary for effective delivery of the projects.
This position reports to a Senior Manager: Digital Business Enablers.
Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic Function
Contribute to the management of IT projects in the AGSA’s operating environment.
Support the implementation of the centre Balance Score Card (BSC) initiatives.
Project management:
Create and executes IT project plans and revises them as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Review project proposals or plans to determine time frames, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and allotment of available departmental resources to various project phases.
Analyse project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations and appropriate process for accomplishing projects.
Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks.
Implement an appropriate project communication plan.
Conduct project risk assessment and mitigation.
Monitor and manage any cross-project dependencies in resourcing and/or technical deliverables.
Continuously benchmarks project management performance to identify improvements and achieve higher capability maturity in project and portfolio management.
Ensure that project goals are accomplished and in line with the stated business objectives.
Project team leadership:
Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities to project team members.
Establish a work plan and staffing for project activities, iterations or phases, and support recruitment and/or assignment processes for project personnel.
Assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority to project personnel
Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses is on schedule and within budget.
Reviews / approves work plans of external service providers or consultancy services contracted to execute project.
Review team status reports, schedules and delivery commitments prepared by project personnel, and ensures alignment with overall project timelines and objectives.
Project governance and reporting:
Manage all AGSA IT projects in line with the approved AGSA project management framework.
Prepare for engagement reviews and project quality assurance reviews and serve as the contact person for project related information.
Ensure project documents are complete, approved, current and stored appropriately in line with AGSA project management framework.
Ensure all project reporting adheres to the established standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
Prepare all project submissions to project governance structures and support the project owner/sponsor in setting up project feedback engagements.
Preparation of monthly reports and assisting in the preparation of documents for submission for organizational reporting.
Project measurement:
Identify and prioritises appropriate measures, scales, and targets.
Provide support to projects, functions or teams in the development of measurement methods.
Specify base and derived measures which support agreed information needs.
Specify how to collect and store the data for each required measure.
Provide guidance on collection of data.
Designs reports and reporting formats.
Stakeholder Management
Establish, build and maintain collaborative working relationships with relevant internal stakeholders.
Build and maintain positive and value-adding relationships with relevant external stakeholders.
Scan the environment to ensure a clear understanding of stakeholder needs.

This position requires a minimum qualification of a Bachelor`s Degree(NQF level 7) in IT AND Project Management Certification such as: Project Management South Africa (PMSA) – Project Management Professional (PMP)

Prince II
Certification in Project Management like Agile or Scrum
Experience
The incumbent requires at least 5 years’ experience managing projects, with a minimum 3 years’ experience working within an IT environment/ IT Projects.

Senior Manager: Digital Business Enablers
Requirement Overview
The purpose of this position is to evaluate market disruptions or trends and provide support to business with defining plans to address or analyse data. This is a cross functional role where the incumbent will be responsible for digital change management, agile project practitioners and business analysts. The incumbent will be responsible for determining business needs, direct and provide guidance on the appropriate digital solutions/options to adequately support business.
Work closely with key role players within the Digital Transformation business unit (DT BU) and other relevant internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of processes and successful integration of multiple work streams, resources and projects across the entire organisation. In addition the incumbent will be required to interact and engage with multiple internal senior stakeholders and external stakeholders in the delivery of the DT products and services.
The Senior Manager: Digital Business Enablers reports to the Business Unit Leader: Digital Transformation.
Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic function
Provide strategic inputs to the strategy of the business unit (BU) and manage the output of the centre to ensure implementation of the BU balance score card (BSC) initiatives.
Develop, drive and manage the delivery of the digital transformation (DT) strategy and determine innovative solutions that support the AGSA strategy.
Product management
Establish, manage and oversee appropriate governance, stakeholder engagement plans and communication for designated projects within the DT business unit and portfolio.
Conduct environmental scanning to keep abreast of changes in the environment and facilitate the digital development requirements to meet the current and future needs of business.
Lead and direct the project management teams from both a strategic and tactical point.
Ensure that all projects within the DT have clear defined goals and supporting project team resources.
Provide expert advice and guidance to business leaders and other stakeholders on various digital concepts and transformation.
Ensure that the delivery of new products or services is to the appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget.
Lead the delivery of an appropriate change management programme relating to digital transformation products which are aligned to key strategic priorities for the organisation.
Ensure that a clearly defined user acceptance and change management culture is embedded with the delivery of the digital solutions.

Report progress of the programme at regular intervals to the line manager and relevant governance bodies as appropriate.
Constantly monitor, evaluate and develop organisational processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the DT products and services that’s supports the AGSA strategy.
Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strategic relationships/partnerships with the relevant stakeholders and or research institutions that enhance the digital transformation value proposition
Build and sustain value adding relationships with internal stakeholders to conduct relevant micro environmental scanning and or needs analysis that will inform relevant research projects for the BU.
Create awareness of the overall DT strategy and ensure it is implemented throughout the organisation.
Provide strategic support and guidance to internal stakeholders on DT technologies/strategies in order to ensure alignment within portfolios and organisation.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders portfolio and contribute in delivery of digital transformation related products and processes in the organisation.
Partner with support and business lines to understand business value that can be achieved through the use of intelligent automation, data science, data and analytics.
Manage service level agreements (SLAs).
People Management
Cascade the BU BSC at centre level.
Implement the activities outlined on the BU People Plans.
