To provide support to team and head of CSDP, through the timely and accurate processing of work as received by various Departments, whilst ensuring strict compliance with policies and procedures.

Job description

Functional Operational Support:

  •  Daily funding obligations sent out to Clearing Bank to process within the funding windows.
  • Review various daily reports and resolve any balancing issues.
  • Capturing of all Equity Instructions (On-exchange and Off-exchange).
  •  Send settlement confirmation of all on-exchange and off-exchange trades that settled to internal departments and clients.
  • Calculate monthly Securities Transfer Tax payable to SARS before the 14th day of each month. 
  • Review and analyse market change requests and draft BRS to System vendor
  • Market Testing
  • Prepare and email transaction advice and contract notes to all own name clients.
  • Monitor all status intimations and report on all unmatched trades.
  • Pro-actively monitor swift queue
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports for all on-exchange and off-exchange transactions.
  • Monthly accruals
  • Upload Price feed
  • Sharedealing MTN/SOL/SOLBE1
  • Fill trades MTN/SOL/SOLBE1

Compliance:

  • Ensure all document and administration processes adhered to the necessary regulatory (Strate), and other processes and procedures, in accordance with transactional timelines to prevent risk exposure or monetary penalties.
  • Ensure that all FAIS / FICA / POPI and TCF obligations as they relate to the CSDP, are adhered to.
  • Maintain and improve quality results by adhering to standards and guidelines, recommending improved procedures.
  • Operate within controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of the JSE.
  • Identify and report risks or areas of concern to management within area of responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures to prevent fruitless, wasteful and irregular expenditure

Customer Service:

  • Maintain effective working relationships with customers (both internal and external) towards rendering highest quality of services.
  • Identify and solves problems whilst demonstrating a high level of integrity in line with the JSE core values.
  • Extract and send daily / monthly / bi-annual reports to clients
  • Update client list for JSE.
  • Liaise with Institutional / Individual clients, Strate and all other relevant parties / Regulators.
  • Ensure that JIS CSDP provides a high-quality service to all external and internal clients
  • Effectively attend to meeting requirements from all Issuers and external service providers.
  • Keep abreast of market changes and keep clients informed.
  • Liaise with vendors regarding system issues and enhancements

Ad Hoc Support:

  • Provide back-up support services for other areas, as and when required.
  • Assist with new projects as well as various ad hoc projects as required by management

Cost Control:

  • Promote the effective and transparent use of financial and other resources.
  • Monitor expenditure and ensure spending occurs within budgetary limits and the JSE financial guidelines, report deviations to direct Manager.
  • Explore opportunitues to control and reduce costs
Minimum requirements

Qualifications:

  • Matric
  • Relevant Certificate/Diploma ( Finance or equivalent)
  • Strate Module 1-3 Accreditation through SAIFM

Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience operating in an Equity Settlements or Corporate Actions role

Additional Requirements:

  • Code B drivers license or relicable transport
  • Strate Module 1-3 Accreditation through SAIFM

Technical Competencies:

  • Understanding of regulatory environment, laws, acts and rules.
  • Understanding of FICA, STRATE and legal documents.
  • Computer Literacy (Excel advanced).
  • Proficiency in Social Media (Instagram)

Regulatory Compliance / Deputy Information Officer

  • Act as the designated Deputy Information Officer
  • Be responsible for POPIA, PAIA and FMA compliance oversight
  • Support the Information Officer in executing Data Incident Management Protocols
  • Ensure compliant response to PAIA requests
  • Perform annual regulatory reporting to the Information Regulator

Ownership of Governance Forums

  • Be accountable for the Enterprise Information Governance (EIG) Council and Privacy Champion Network

Data Enablement for Projects

  • Provide governance ownership and business sponsorship for information governance, privacy and compliance technologies

Data Loss Prevention

  • Act as the governance and business sponsor for the organisation’s DLP capability
  • Support the implementation and execution of data loss prevention activities
  • Support the implementation and execution of privacy controls

Data Risk and Audit

  • Support data risk identification, access governance, privacy, security, retention, regulatory reporting and audit evidence requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement and Data Literacy

  • Build strong relationships with data stakeholders and promote consistent understanding of data standards, definitions, responsibilities and good data practices.
Minimum requirements

Minimum Qualification

  • Relevant degree in Information Governance, Regulatory Compliance, Privacy, Risk Management or Law. Consideration for qualifications in Data Management, Information Systems, Informatics or related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification or certification in data governance, data management, analytics, business intelligence, DAMA/CDMP, cloud data platforms, information security or related discipline is advantageous.

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in information governance, privacy, regulatory compliance, data governance, data risk, information management or enterprise data management, preferably within financial services, capital markets or a regulated environment.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional data initiatives, working with data owners and technology teams, and translating business requirements into trusted data and reporting outputs.

Knowledge and Skills required

  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, master/reference data, reporting frameworks, analytics enablement, information lifecycle management, regulatory data requirements and data risk controls.
  • Advanced analytical, stakeholder management, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to convert complex data issues into practical business recommendations.

JSE Investor Services is looking for a motivated individual to join the Share Plans Services team! As a Client Liaison Officer Support, you will be responsible for ensuring ongoing maintenance and support to JIS Share Plan corporate clients and Trusts in line with statutory and service level agreements between JIS and the client.

Job description

Functional client liaison services operations

  • Administer corporate client accounts for JIS (JSE Investor Services), including executive share schemes and BEE schemes.
  • Attend to clients and their respective employees both telephonically and via email.
  • Laise with Client Liaison officers as well Trading, Tax, Settlement, Recons and
  • Communications teams to action client requests, amendments, trades, tax queries, settlements and respond to ad hoc requests from clients.
  • Apply knowledge and comply in depth when performing Share Plan administration and BEE schemes duties.
  • Support Management in providing successful maintenance and support to Clients as efficiently and timeously as possible

Systems Administration

  • Utilise the Share Plan Services (SPS) system to monitor client accounts and events, including dividends, vestings and adhoc client requests.
  • Validating and understanding received instructions and ensuring instructions are executed correctly..
  • Manage e-mail and phone call interactions and closure of requests through Outlook or Genesys.

Support Services

  • Assist in the collection; preparation and distribution of information required for management and client reporting.
  • Completion of project work or work for other teams as required.
  • Maintain records of all work performed and report daily statistics to management.
  • Communicate and liaise with other departments, direct to correct departments to meet client’s needs.
  • Render backup for areas where assistance is required.

Job description

Executing the Financial Reporting Proactive Monitoring (“PM”) review process through case ownership and technical IFRS Accounting Standards Analysis

·       Execute on the analysis of financial statements to identify and correct for non-compliance with IFRS Accounting Standards  and/ or GRAP and, in so doing, contribute to the integrity of financial reporting in our market.

·       Identify issues beyond those raised through external review processes

·       Apply advanced and integrative technical judgement to resolve both routine, complex and ambiguous IFRS accounting matters

·       Formulate and articulate clear, defensible and well-supported technical conclusions

·       Exercise delegated authority in determining regulatory positions and outcomes within defined governance frameworks

Stakeholder Relationship Management and drafting of Technical Correspondence

·       Draft regulatory correspondence using judgement to include correct level of detail and appropriate technical arguments

·       Challenge issuer responses appropriately, constructively and drive resolution of technical matters

·       Handle sensitive matters in a professional and balanced manner

·       Ensure execution of the PM process creates an atmosphere that is pragmatic; business friendly and not seen as being aggressive whilst promoting quality in our market

·       Contribute to shaping market practices and promoting high-quality financial reporting through stakeholder interaction and external committee participation

IFRS Research and Participation in Technical Discussions

Minimum requirements

Minimum Experience

·       2-4 years post articles experience in financial reporting and/or analysis of financial statements (the application and interpretation thereof) focusing on International Financial Reporting Accounting Standards as issued by the IASB (IFRS Accounting Standards)

·       Demonstratable evidence of experience applying IFRS Accounting Standards

·       Experience within the accounting technical department of an audit firm, company or asset manager preferable (but not essential)

Knowledge and Skills required

·       Strong knowledge of IFRS requirements and their application (on a pragmatic basis) to the business environment.

·       Knowledge in Standards of Generally Recognised Accounting Practices issued for the public sector (“GRAP”) is not essential but will be an advantage

·       Ability to absorb new information and apply it when analysing data to make decisions. 

·       Ability to analyse information from a variety of sources to detect trends, associations, and cause-effect relationships.

·       Ability to apply technical knowledge to structured, practical scenarios
