| Job Purpose | The Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for suitably qualified and competent individual to coordinate and facilitate the creation of opportunities to influence economic growth and job creation within the tourism sector (Regulation). |
| Minimum Requirements | An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in Commerce/Tourism/Law or Public Administration; A minimum of 3 years administrative experience (Project management relating to tourism, economic development, public administration or law; the tourism industry; Regulatory environment); A valid (Code B) or higher driving licence. | Recommendation | Experience in the following: Tourist Guiding industry; Supervision of staff; Compiling information for newsletters; Project Management; Working with SMMEs. |
| Key Performance Areas | Regulate and administer tourist guide applications and renewals registrations (online system) to improve sector competitiveness and development; Monitor and investigate illegal tour guides; Maintain networks with key stakeholders and ensure vertical and horizontal alignment; People Management. |
