Salary Range: R16 427.66 – R19 086.76 per month (basic salary excluding benefits)

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Enforce health and safety regulation. ● Inspect hanging gear and make sure that it is safe to use and in good repair ● Ensure safety cables are attached to all hanging gear● Ensure that scenery bars are in good working order and meets the required safety standards ● Replace faulty equipment and recommend to the senior management to upgrade to newer and safer technology when necessary ● Diagnose and resolve media system problems● Determine formats and approaches, content, levels and mediums to effectively meet objectives within budgetary constraints, using research, knowledge and training ● Determine technical requirements of productions or projects● Analysing information and evaluating results to choose the best results and solve problems ● Scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of subordinates● Draw Stage Crew time sheets on behalf of the Technical Manager. ● Direct and coordinate activities of assistants and other personnel during production ● Monitor
and correct the behaviour of subordinate as per company policies and procedures ● Monitor and maintain the set production technical standard on show runs ● Take annual stock of Stage scenery, furnisher and props stock and monthly stock take of consumables ● Could be asked to assess staff after training programmes ● Determine client’s production requirements and give the necessary support ● Keep costs to a minimum by saving on overtime and consumables ● Operate any stage equipment within theatre when needed. ●Train and manage the performance of subordinates – including output, service standards and personal grooming and hygiene – and be prepared to take adequate measures to correct unsatisfactory performance.

Appointment Requirements:
 Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or an equivalent qualification
 3-year experience working in a venue theatre technical department or similar department
 Computer Literacy, working knowledge of MS Office, suite internet and any other applications require to perform.

Core Competencies
 Ability to relate and work with people;
 Demonstrate excellent hands on technical experience in the safe operation or rigging, counterweight flying system and hoists, building and striking sets, staging and preparing theatre spaces for performances and events.
