Mineral Rights Officer

The incumbent in this role is responsible for the following components within the Regulatory Affairs Department – Mineral Rights, BBB-EE verification processes and the implementation of the SLP and Mining Charter targets throughout the implementation cycle which includes Governance, Strategy, Performance, Assurance and Improvement, and Communication.

 Key Responsibilities

• Providing input into the BBB-EE verification processes to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and improvement of the level/rating.
• Assisting with the compilation, submission, implementation and monitoring of the SLP and Mining Charter targets throughout the implementation cycle which includes Governance, Strategy, Performance, Assurance and Improvement, and communication.
• Maintaining adequate administrative and record keeping systems.
• Engaging with internal stakeholders and keeping up with external developments to ensure that internal processes keep up to ensure legislative compliance and security of tenure.
• Ensuring compliance to all applicable legislated dates for submission and implementation.

 Minimum Qualifications

• Law Degree or equivalent.
• BBB-EE Certificate will be an added advantage.
• Driver’s license (Code EB/08).

Minimum Experience

• 3 Years’ experience in the mining, government regulation, legal practice or consulting environment.
