The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a self-motivated individual to attend to response handling of job applications, administrative matters related to, but not limited to, recruitment, selection, and appointment activities including other human resources related administrative services.

This position requires a Grade 10, Job Specific Qualification, or equivalent qualification at NQF 2 with 5 years of work experience in the relevant field, OR Grade 12, Job Specific Qualification, or equivalent qualification at NQF 4 with 4 years of work experience in the relevant.  A Higher Education Qualification, Job Specific Qualification or equivalent qualification at NQF 5 will be an added advantage.

The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: comprehensive knowledge and experience about legislation, policies, procedures, processes, practices, systems, and frameworks pertaining to human resources management; proven ability to work with diverse team and under pressure whilst being quality, cost, and safety conscious; attention to details, good records keeping, filing of documents, information management and processing; ability to keep confidential matters, handle confidential information and deal with HR clients in a professional and service oriented manner;  advanced planning, organizing, interpersonal, and problem solving, project and event management skills; excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); excellent computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools including (MS Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Outlook) will be advantageous. The possession of a valid driver’s licence with at least one-year practical driving experience and a willingness to travel will be advantageous.

Key Performance Responsibilities include:

  • Attend to response handling of applications, data capturing, and processing of job applications according to the job adverts;
  • Coordinate and assist with logistical arrangements for the shortlisting, skills test writing, interviews, meetings, competency based assessments, and onboarding processes; and
  • Assist with recruitment, selection, appointment and other human resources related administrative services.
