Purpose of the Position
To assist and support the development and implementation the content strategy across the various MAH regions, align with in-country marketing activity as well as key partnerships and distribution opportunities.
To help build a local content slate, competitive enough to drive acquisition and deliver high levels of retention.
Key Performance Objectives
Content Planning
Facilitate planning session updates to all relevant stakeholders.
Manage updates to planning documents, identifying key impacts to the on-time delivery of materials.
Liaise with Content Hub and Acquisitions team to ensure all Showmax content agreements are executed and loaded on Synergy in time for scheduling
Facilitate the sourcing linear channel schedules to manage Shared Content micro planning.
Manage compliance to the windowing guidelines between General Entertainment and Showmax
Ensure content utility is aligned with terms & conditions of agreements
Assist Content Hub to update 18 month plan for Showmax Content
Maintain reporting requirements to stakeholders
Assist with monthly ad hoc projects, reports and presentations
Inventory Management and Maintenance
Manage and maintain inventory database across Local Originals, Local Acquisitions, Shared Content, International Series, Movies and Kids.
Ensure that all inventory has been planned and updated into the Macro Planning Weekly & Daily Tracker, Content Calendar and Meta-Asset sheet.
Process all changes on Synergy so inventory is available for the scheduling team
Issue Running Orders for all series
Implement changes timeously and accurately and ensure that all stakeholders are accurately informed
Budget & Cost Control
Ensure required volumes of Content have been planned for, and adhered to, in the overall budget
Maintain budget updates and rolling inputs, updates to be supplied to the team on a monthly basis
Check monthly forecast against budget
Stakeholder Relations
Collaborate with stakeholders across Content Hub and Acquisitions teams both in SA and MAH
Keep all relevant stakeholders updated on Planning updates (Finance, Scheduling, Curation, Ops)
Support the Content management team to translate insights into understandable, monetizable, tangible actions for the business
Compliance
Query and resolve issues with relevant stakeholders.Escalate concerns to manager timeously
Ensure macro schedules are released on time as per SOP
Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
Qualifications
BA/BComm Degree in Media Studies, Communications, Business, or a related field
Experience
3-5 years in any working environment, including internships
Proven experience in content planning, programming, or a related role within the streaming or entertainment industry.
Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Familiarity with digital streaming platforms and industry trends.
Creative thinking and a passion for delivering high-quality, engaging content.
Technical Competencies
Advanced Excel skills – the ability to efficiently produce spreadsheets, tables, graphs and perform calculations and automation to process large volumes of data frequently.
