The Johannesburg Social Housing Company SOC Limited (JOSHCO) mandate is to develop and manage affordable rental housing for the lower market as an integral part of efforts to eradicate the housing backlog of the City of Johannesburg. JOSHCO is a registered Social Housing Institution and is accredited by the Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA).
JOSHCO invites suitably qualified and experienced persons to apply for the following vacant position.
Position : Manager: Research and Knowledge Management
Employment Status : Permanent
Department : Business Planning and Strategy
Purpose of the Job: To provide advice and support by means of resource materials, research briefs and technical assistance, using effective communication and knowledge sharing channels.
Responsibilities (but not limited to the following):
Analyzing competitor information and market trends to identify new strategic growth opportunities
and to contribute to the development of suitable customer value propositions.
Synthesizing new and existing information into strategically actionable insights that drive market
growth.
Assisting with the development of a strategic foresight organisation that seeks to strategically
leverage the increase in knowledge of customers and the market across the enterprise.
Ensuring the effective extraction, consolidation, and analyses of data to enable the optimal
interrogation thereof to inform decision making.
Providing support to stakeholders in using data for informed and timely decisions related to
JOSHCO’s operations, initiatives, projects, and innovations.
Analyzing, interpreting, and reporting on M&E results to incorporate lessons learned into
programme designs, implementation as well as for awareness-creating campaigns
Develops and manages functional knowledge management systems and knowledge-generating tools
to accelerate learning within and outside of JOSHCO.
Designs effective communication and knowledge sharing channels/platforms.
Minimum job Requirements, interested applicants must be in possession of:
BSc Degree in Data Science or Information Management or related
Data Analytic tools (Power BI / PowerPivot / SQL / Advanced Excel) will be an added advantage.
At least 5 – 7 years’ experience in a similar environment
Experience in developing and working with M&E frameworks and tools
Demonstrated ability to coach and train others in using M&E methodologies to measure impact of
development projects
Skills and competencies- The ideal applicant must possessthe following skills and competencies:
Generic skills: Organisation and attention to detail, problem-solving skills, analytical skills,
continuous process improvement ability.
Technical Knowledge and Skills: Quality research and information gathering, knowledge of and
compliance to legislative and regulatory frameworks applicable to own work environment, knowledge
and awareness of relevant industry related legislative and regulatory frameworks, knowledge of
JOSHCO’s internal regulatory frameworks and policies.
Attributes: . Relationship management and networking, stakeholder engagement and management.
