Requirements:

Minimum educational qualifications:
• Grade 2: Successful completion of the ECT programme that allows for registration with the HPCSA as ECT.
• Grade 3: Successful completion of the Critical Care Assistant (CCA) course or National Diploma that allows registration with the HPCSA as Paramedic.
• Grade 4: Successful completion of the B Tech-degree that allows registration with the HPCSA as Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP.

Experience:
• Grade 2: 3 years after registration with the HPCSA as ECT.
• Grade 3: 3 years after registration with the HPCSA as Paramedic.
• Grade 4: 3 years after registration with the HPCSA as an ECP.

Registration with a professional council:
• Grade 2: Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as ECT.
• Grade 3: Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Paramedic.
• Grade 4: Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as ECP.

Inherent Requirements of the Job:

• Valid Code C1 driver’s licence.
• Valid C1 Professional driver’s permit.
• Physical and mental fitness
