Icebolethu Group is currently in search of nine (9) suitable candidates to fill the position of Funeral Undertaker located between Kokstad, Port Shepstone and Nongoma respectively. The position will be available on a Fixed Term basis within the Fleet Centre, a Division of Icebolethu Group. The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks and responsibilities supporting Burial team’s activities.
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
Minumum Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Certificate in Funeral Practice.
- Diploma/Degree in Mortuary Science or Forensics Sciences Advantageous.
- Valid driver license with PDP.
Skills and Experience required
- Working Experience as an Embalmer advantageous.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities Required:
- Responding to clients that require funeral services assistance and assisting them in line with Icebolethu Burial Services processes and procedures.
- Drive allocated vehicle to conduct removal of the deceased from place of death to a designated parlour.
- Assisting in the processing of burial orders and any other funeral related documents.
- Assisting in the preparation of deceased this includes washing, dressing and arranging for the viewing of the body, undertaking and other areas of funerals.
- Prepare the body for washing, dressing and embalming whenever need arises.
- Assisting in taking bereaved families to the chapel for service and viewing of the body.
- Drive allocate vehicle to ferry the deceased to place of burial.
- Operate and clean cemetery equipment.
- Check all cemetery equipment after use and report any faults found.
- Clean vehicles daily.
- Conduct vehicle checks daily using the standard vehicle check list provided.
- Log mileage and reference for all trips.
- Record all fuel transactions in line with vehicle mileage logbook.
- Clean removal equipment.
- Monitoring and smooth coordination of all burial’s services.
- Comply with Icebolethu’s Code of Conduct for Drivers and all other laid down rules as follows:
- Drive hearse wearing a jacket all the time.
- Wind windows halfway down
- Switch off music during funeral procession.
- No waving or hooting to friends or chatting.
- No eating or drinking alcohol/ beverages.
- No smoking
- Not to exceed 100km/h (fleet to advise)
- Communicate to all parties involved about all events.
- Do not misinform clients.
- Do not use company vehicles unless authorized by management.
- Timeous communication with family representatives and office to ensure smooth coordination of all funerals.
- Pitching tents, fixtures and flower setting up.
- Night duties
- Any other duty as may be assigned.

Minumum Qualifications
- BCom Accounting or Finance Degree and Post Graduate qualification in Tax.
- Registered tax practitioner – preferred.
Experience and Knowledge required

- Prepare and compile documentation for tax audits.
- Engage with SARS to resolve any tax issues and queries.

- Prepare training slides concerning various applicable developments linked to tax legislation.
- Prepare all tax disclosures on the annual financial statements.

Icebolethu Group is currently in search of a Facilities Manager who will be responsible for managing the Group’s property portfolio, planning and scheduling maintenance projects and managing all construction and shop-fitting projects.
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
Minumum Qualifications
- National Diploma or Degree in Civil/Construction/ Electrical/ Building related field.
- Project Management Certification.
Experience and Knowledge required
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in building and maintenance management.
- Knowledge of the Health and Safety Act, relevant building regulations and applicable SANS codes
Skills and competence
- Project management and planning skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical and equipment maintenance skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an effective annual planned maintenance programme to ensure that all properties occupied by the Group are properly maintained and comply with Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
- On a monthly basis, prepare the project plan together with budgeted costs for approval by the GCFO prior to plan implementation.
- Create project timelines and research expected costs.
- Identify and recommend properties for acquisition in line with Group and zoning requirements.
- Work with the Group Procurement department to oversee the sourcing and engagement of external service providers in line with the Group’s Procurement Policy.
- Provide oversight and management of internal team members and service providers contracted to execute maintenance and repairs and ensure all work is being performed within the agreed timelines and budget.
- Maintain good working relationships with landlords, engage with them on repairs required and when leases are due for renewal.
- Maintain accurate and complete records including keeping building plans and blueprints, lease agreements, service level agreements filed in proper order.
- Respond to emergency requests for facility and equipment repairs.
- Prepare monthly report to provide an overview of work completed in the month.
- Project manage all construction, refurbishment and shopfitting projects.
- Maintaining projects and compliance schedules including the Occupational Health and Safety and relevant by-laws and building regulations, such as re-zoning.
- Implement the Group’s performance management system and cultivate high levels of staff performance and engagement within the Facilities’ team.
