Manager: Land Administration Park Planning and Development

A challenging opportunity currently exists for a confident, team-oriented and highly motivated Manager: Land Administration to manage all SANParks land information and coordinate land administration processes in the Park Planning Unit for protected area expansion. A key focus will be on the protected area expansion agenda and related land administration processes. The successful candidate will report to the General Manager: Park Planning and Development and will be based at either the Port Elizabeth, Cape Town or Pretoria Offices.

Responsibilities

  • To support the protected area expansion processes through:
    • leading the drafting of land purchase and contract national park agreements in consultation with legal services and attorneys.
    • supporting land acquisition processes for the organisation, including expropriation as required.
    • managing property subdivisions, land surveying, SG diagrams, boundary verification and land exchange processes as required.
    • coordinating internal approvals and submissions for, and tracking all park declaration processes and title deed endorsements on behalf of SANParks (as a primary focal point) in close consultation with DFFE- and SANParks Legal Services and maintaining an up-to-date database on all declarations
  • To oversee and manage databases pertaining to land owned and managed by the organisation as well as contractual national park land owned by private and communal land owners (including copies of the title deeds).

Liaison Officer

Administrator

South African National Parks is looking for a self-motivated Administration officer to lead the administration for the Agence Française de Development (AFD) Funding to the Table Mountain National Park-Reunion Island National Park collaboration programme.

This is a 2-year programme that will end May 2026. The position will be assisting the AFD-TMNP Programme Manger to deliver the programme outcomes. While this is a fixed term contract, we are looking for a leader who is energetic, experienced and reliable working efficiently in grant administration and / or public administration processes to enable timeous delivery of the programme outcomes. The individual is expected to help make a significant contribution to the future of the Table Mountain National Park by proactively leading on administration processes and work with multidisciplinary and diverse leaders to deliver the programme outcomes.

  • Ability to perform on-the-job repair work of above-stated systems and associated components

  • Perform market and industry analysis to inform sourcing strategies and responsive bid specifications. Compile reports on the outcome of the annual procurement plan.
  • Coordinate and implement SCM special projects aimed at continuous business improvement.
  • Participate in the bid specification committee meetings.
  • Initiate and negotiate transversal contracts.
  • Manage and oversee human resources and other related administrative functions.

  • Ensure effective financial management of the Sub-unit.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain efficient and effective stakeholder relations.
  • Identify, develop, and manage the operational risks for Sub-unit.
  • Ensure audit readiness, develop an audit action plan and continuously update internal controls to avoid repeat findings.
  • Ensure the development of quality, effective, and user-friendly reporting to Managing Executives and EXCO.

Salary

R611,354.27 – R1,002,330.00
