In this Field Sales Executive position

  • You will develop and maintain strong existing customer relations and loyalty through ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • You will respond to customer enquiries/complaints.
  • You will manage a defined portfolio of potential customers and wins them for a lasting business relationship with DGF.
  • You will seek and prospects for BC targets to win new customers generally in the 60k-1000k Euro range Net Sales per annum.
  • You will plan and manage medium to large – sized Business Customers.
  • You will build rapport and trust with customers by being informed about customer’s business and the market.
  • You will recommend solutions based on customer needs by using industry knowledge.
  • You will be responsible for closing business by connecting a customer’s needs to a DHL solution by offering value to the clients supply chain.
  • You will use networks within the various Sales channels within DPDHL to collaborate on customers, marketing strategies and offers a full supply chain of services to service customer needs.
  • You will collect relevant customer information for the RFI/RFP/RFQ and prepares documents for customer implementation in order to ensure proper operational handover and implementation to meet customer expectations.
  • You will highlight to Sales Manager on observations of market dynamics for example competitors’ behavioural patterns.
  • You will maintain and support interdepartmental relationships.
  • You will collaborate with colleagues across the organization to achieve shared goals.

  • You will be responsible for conducting high quality presentation of the entire range of standardized products to customers.

  • You will adhere to approved credit limits granted to customers and enforce previously agreed payment terms.

  • You will secure/collect all necessary information to assess credit worthiness of potential customer.
  • You will support receivables functions.

Role Outline

Control and co-ordinate all pallets within the distribution centre

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Operating of Mechanical Handling Equipment

• Maintain a theoretical record of all pallets on hand by accurately processing all THAN documents received or dispatched

• Accurate processing and recycling all customers Pallet exchange Notes

• Updating the outstanding customer Record card and following up on all outstanding pallets in the trade

• Filling the PEN documentation and checking that all are processed

• Reconciling the Security Gate Log

• Accurately processing all Transhipment Depot Control Notes on the Transhipment Depot Customer Record card

• Filling and checking that all Transhipments Depot Pallet Exchange Notes are processed

• Request confirmation on each month of Pallet balances from each Transhipment Depots and follow-up on discrepancies

• Complete check and reconcile on a weekly basis

• Arrange a physical count, monthly of all pallets on hand within the depot

• Liaise with Transport Manager and arrange for pallets in the Trade to be recovered

• Ensure that there are sufficient PEN and THAN books in stock

• Audit pallet control procedure on a regular basis

• Maintain and check THAN control register and ensure CHEP (SA) personnel endorse register to acknowledge receipt documents

In this AFR Import Controller position

  • You will provide front line contact with customer.
  • You will be liaising with overseas stations and suppliers in order to arrange shipments.
  • You will be monitoring and following up on shipments until delivery.
  • You will create/confirm transport order to ensure delivery of the shipment to the final customer.
  • You will perform booking and booking optimization according to internal guidelines as defined by Product.
  • You will prepare, control and distribute all required Import documents to counterparts (carrier, consignee, supplier, etc.) complying with regulations and internal procedures.
  • You will ensure the accurate tariffs application on all shipments billings.
  • You will be managing the profitability of every shipment and raising any issues or incidents that would impact the profitability of the account.
  • You will perform IT systems related tasks to provide up to date information on shipment.
  • You will be attending to client queries as required and making sure all operational KPI’s are met and maintained.
  • You will prepare monthly KPI reporting if required and handle customer complaints.

Role Context

Under the management of the Senior Cluster Director Network Operations and Aviation the appointed person is mandated to manage a cluster of countries, provide, and implement the Global and SSA Operational Functional Direction through regular collaboration / communication with the Country Ops Managers’ and the where applicable the Country SMT.

Operations Management & Strategy

  • Contribute to the overall strategic direction and management of the clusters PLUS the sub-regional operational strategy (short and long term) and policies within overall regional DHL context, in terms of door-to-door profitability, service quality and cost performance
  • Manages the profitability and growth of the organization´s operations within a cluster
  • Ensure Aviation handling & safety compliance procedures and processes are in place in all countries
  • Ensure all Security procedures & processes are in place across all countries
  • Ensure health & safety standards are in place in all countries.
  • Establishes the required operating standards and procedures to provide cost-effective, superior customer service
    Liaise with relevant departments to bring Operational expertise to the customer relationship and ensure cost effective service offering

  • Analyses and approves country investments that best meet the organization’s business needs
  • Drive improvement of operational processes, facilities, and capabilities, through standardising operational practices and optimising work methods in DHL organisations to maximize productivity improvement.

People and Performance Management

  • Assists countries with recruiting talent and develops the members of the operations leadership team in the country & cluster; keeps them motivated and coordinates their efforts to enhance customer service experiences for internal customers and develop staff to the maximum potential
  • Together with Country Ops manager & HR Approves key personnel decisions for the function
  • Generates commitment, motivation and enthusiasm to company and division by motivating and retaining the best talents within DHL to enhance customer service experiences for internal customers

  • Evaluates staff performance and proposes development / promotion for Ops staff in conjunction with Country Ops Manager & HR
  • Design and develop Operations architecture (org structure, job profiles, competence profiles)
  • Develop performance contracts, performance targets and KPI for Operations staff
  • Ensure all countries build departmental capacity and capability to enable achievement of operational & commercial objectives
  • Ensure all countries align people, competencies to meet the business objectives and manage staff competency levels and performance according to service requirements and business needs
  • Ensuring that all countries operations activities meet efficiency targets (Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in line with business objectives

Financial management & projects

  • Together with country Operations managers develop yearly operations budget (Opex and Capex)
  • Monitor and control operations budget monthly
  • Oversees the operations budget on the country level
  • Together with country Ops Decides all major operations projects within countries
  • Drive the accurate creation and submission of BCA (Business Case Applications) to Country \ African Management board

Reporting and analysis

  • Prepares necessary frequent reports for Cluster & SSA Area office
  • Analyze records of customer inquiries, service requests and complaints to identify trends for countries
  • To maintain standards, use operations data to focus resources on improving performance
  • To monitor Operations KPIs, standards and reporting
  • Balance operational metrics against operations metrics
  • Translate Operations trends into easy-to-understand reports or presentations for Cluster and SSA Area office

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Post-graduate qualification in Management

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years in Logistics and/or courier industry

Role Outline

Logistics operations in DHL Supply Chain business require optimized IT solutions to drive physical behavior in the most efficient way. DHL Supply Chain therefore selected best-inclass IT Products on the market and designed composable IT Solutions to run operations in a standardized and optimal way. As a result, deployment projects involve IT elements

including requirements mapping, configuration and development. This role exists to enable DHL Supply Chain business to meet customer needs in that area and ensure best practice, accurate costing and a solution fit for purpose.

The role of the Application Consultant is to “translate” – in close cooperation with the Business Analyst – customer/business requirements and processes into a standardized IT solution. The emphasis of this role is to set up, test and train the applications to work according to the agreed business requirements and guide the business in its proper use.

Moreover, the Application Consultant is to support the engagement of the Application Developers to help the design of the required customizations in agreement with the actual application configuration.

Key areas of responsibility include:

1. Implement IT solutions

  • Working out in detail improvements of existing IT solutions

  • Acting as the go-to expert for medium to complex technical questions on IT solutions

Job Purpose:   

To provide support to the Transport Manager – and to assist in the control of dispatch.  Ensure that all loads on the load plan are loaded and that all vehicles are fully utilized.  Ensure that all vehicles are correctly loaded to avoid damages.  Compliance with OSHAC – Labour Relations Act and Skills Development Act whilst maintaining sound IR.  Service delivery must be on time and accurately.  Ensure customer service is the highest standard and that losses to the Company are kept to a minimum.  To always maintain the integrity of the Company.  Assist drivers with delivery queries at customers.
