Specialist – CRT, Fleet and Card
Responsible for CVP development, deployment of processes, programs, and systems to optimize Astron Energy’s overall profit and loss for the Fleet Card proposition in alignment with Retail’s Marketing strategic imperatives.
- Design and develop Astron Energy’s CVP for fleet card solutions
- Execute and implement comprehensive and integrated card/fuel payment solution marketing plans, strategies, and tactics, to compliment and support retail operations to achieve desired sales in Astron Energy
- Drive card/fuel payment solution sales within the Region by leading and Drive move to service excellence on the part of In-country Card Operations Specialists as far as the service offering is concerned
- Card / Payment Solution Business Management
- Develop and manage third party relationships
- Managing 3rd party initiatives – Alliances
Financial Perspective
Card Marketing Execution and Card Operations Management – Coordination of all aspects of proprietary and third-party card sales promotion and advertising, customer support and customer relationship management for Astron Energy.
Customer Perspective
Develop fit for purpose fleet card CVP. Build and develop relationships with 3rd parties in the Region (e.g., banks, cards issuers, service providers, etc.) that will deliver joint tactical promotions, minimize costs, and improve profitability. These relationships need to be aligned and developed to ensure nationally 3rd party relationships are leveraged.
Financial Institutions (e.g., banks – insofar as alliance/co-branded card offerings exist);
Work in close collaboration with the marketing teams of the Alliance Banks to develop strong communications campaigns that promotes Astron Energy action in the area of payment systems
Explore brand marketing opportunities or promotions within the Retail Card space (RFA conferences or other relevant brand awareness opportunities)
Business Excellence
Deliver efficient card/ payment solution processing, administration, and customer support.
Collaborate with Brand & Retailing teams to deliver excellent customer service.
Continually monitor the National Card marketing operations’ progress relating to these procedures and execution against plans.
Liaise with National Card Operations department to ensure that the offering to customers is delivered as proposed.
Collaborates with Fiscal Services to ensure credit policies and procedures are in compliance with established policies. Responsible and accountable for all operational compliance issues.
People Management
Organisational Capability: Drive card/fuel payment solutions to enable sales within the Region . These activities include:
- Provide Training material for the education and motivation of the Alliance Bank sales team
- Providing strong customer service focus to team
- Lead generation programs
- Coordinating activities of In-country Card Operations Specialists
Drive moves to service excellence on the part of In-country Card Operations Specialists as far as the service offering is concerned. These activities include:
- Analysis of performance and sales reports per country focusing on Customer NOI to determine overall levels of service offering within the Area.
- Resolution (at National level) of any issues that have been escalated (from an In- country level.
- Assist in career planning and evaluate performance.
Professional Qualification and Certifications:
Degree in the field of Marketing, Business Management, Sales or related field
Work Experience:
10-15 years marketing professional with experience in the Fuel or Fleet Banking Industry (Avis, Major Banking Fleets, etc ), CVP development and implementation. card and card technology, card processes, cost & margins and demonstrable track record of excellence.
Knowledge and skills:
Demonstrated track record of experience in the following:
- Conducting market research, understanding fleet card trends and customer preferences, creating marketing strategy and budgets, overseeing the creation of marketing materials and content for increasing the Retail business sales.
- Customer relationship management
- New business development
- Mastery level knowledge in fleet card Marketing
- Knowledge of the Oil Industry, fleet products and services, fleet card banking, retail network and site automation
- Team leadership & development
- Business acumen including knowledge of business sectors, current market, and industry status. 8. Stakeholder management with the drive and persistency to perform, even at times of great change and under strong pressure
- IT literate, able to perform basic analytical work with at least sufficient skilled with Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Exhibit accountability, leadership and be a team player.
- Track record of integrity, honesty and a positive attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Designer Draftsperson – Mechanical
Reporting to the Drawing Office Lead, the Mechanical Design Draftsperson has the responsibility for all Mechanical, Piping & Structural drawings needed to complete a project.
Technically responsible for quality and designs of all drafting work produced.
Develop time estimate and schedule for jobs (scope of work).
Providing approved for construction (AFC) drawings for:
Reliability & Maintenance support – break-in work and emergencies
Engineering Works Requests (EWR)
Tank refurbishments
Integrity Threat Recommendations – ITR’s
Replacement in kind (RIK)
“As-Build” update of drawings
Understanding and developing Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Piping Isometrics on new/existing pipelines – 3D modelling utilizing CADWorx and generating Bill of Materials (BOM)
Structural – pipe supports, platforms, walk-ways, cat walks, etc.
Mechanical – vessels, boilers, tanks, pumps, etc.
Civil – concrete pump bases, footings, etc.
Refinery Plot/Key Plan updates.
Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) on Plot Plans updates.
Checking of drawings for correctness and Standards prior to submittal for approval.
Mentoring of learners or less experienced employees
Field Verification & Validation of theoretical designs/drawingscomprises up to 40% of the role
Professional Qualification and Certifications
B-Tech / Dip Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Work Experience:
4 to 8 years’ experience essential in a Petrochemical Manufacturing environment.
Good knowledge of ASME and the American Petroleum Institute (API), South African National Standard (SANS) and other Codes and Standards related to Petrochemical Plants.
Demonstrated knowledge in AutoCAD including Ancillary Software and Intergraph SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) strongly preferred.
Experience in developing piping isometrics and detail mechanical drawings using AutoCAD.
Knowledge and skills:
Ability to build strong customer-focused relationships amongst the various Business Units.
Manages own time to ensure efficient and productive work output.
Excellent record keeping and reporting on job progress
Keep pace with Technology advancement of Designs and Drafting products and software tools. Strong planning, prioritization and time-management skills
Able to manage high volume of workload with competing priorities and deadlines
Strong work ethic and commitment to deliver results the right way yet with a sense of urgency and accuracy
Able to function individually and as a Team Member with minimal supervision
Ability to read and understand various drawings, including P&ID symbols as used in various standards.
Fluency in English is essential.
Good communication, organizational and administration skills.
Basic proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
Able to work in a high volume and a fast paced environment.
