Community Liaison Officer

Job Description

Purpose of the role:

The Community Liaison Officer will implement the stakeholder engagement activities and execute external community campaigns activities.

Duties:

Participate and contribute to a safe and healthy work environment where workers, external service providers/contractors can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment. Ensuring that the project activities are carried out without any disruptions.

  • Keep the community informed on the progress of the project
  • Coordinate public relations and Stakeholder events.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders in line with Community Engagement Plans and reinforce a positive representation of Lesedi to the Community.
  • Continuously provide feedback to the Project Manager on community concerns and priorities with the view to revise intervention strategies where necessary.
  • Schedule outreach meetings with local community members to discover their issues and concerns.
  • Manage the recruitment of workers from the sub-council job-seekers database
  • Collate, analyse and write reports to share insights with Lesedi, conduct further research and organize follow-up meetings to address outstanding concerns with community leaders / members, clients, and employees.
  • Liaise with all stakeholders and be the first point of contact to build an effective communication structure, enhancing a harmonious internal and external relationships by ensuring the quality-of-service delivery achieve set goals.
  • Promptly resolve incidents and other events
  • Support the current SD&L programmes to educate the community members about the projects and to support active community participation
  • Assist Lesedi supervisory staff in the management of the workers.

 Qualifications:

  • Grade 12
  • National Diploma in Public Administration or equivalent
  • Valid South African Driver’s license
  • Bachelors’ Degree will be advantageous

 Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a community outreach environment, community based activities with a good understanding of local communities, their norms and culture
  • Computer literacy in MS Office

ICT Technician

Job Description

PURPOSE OF ROLE

To provide 1st Level Support for Cloud, Desktop, Server, and Networks for Lesedi IT Systems (Not limited)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (All sites)

  • Attend Servicedesk calls and close in SLA timeframe.
  • Laptop/Desktop (Specification, Procure, Distribute, Support).
  • Lesedi software application installation and basic support (Engineering software).
  • Manage and maintain all Meeting rooms, video conferencing (not limited).
  • Assist with maintenance of local network cabling.
  • Assist with VoIP system support.
  • Assist with All printers/Plotters toner maintenance.
  • Assist with Cloud support to end-users (i.e. Office 365, Code Two)
  • Setup and Maintenance of procedures, guides, and SOPs as required.
  • Assist with Wi-Fi AP and controller companywide.
  • NOC dashboard monitoring and call logging.
  • Initiate and liaise with 3rd party vendors for hardware and software support.
  • Assist with Offsite Datacenter support when required.
  • Assist the ICT Manager with Site initiation and planning.
  • At minimum -Monthly reporting and feedback

Electrical Engineer

Job Description

PURPOSE OF ROLE

Produce quality technical outputs which satisfy all requirements (Clients, Codes and Standards) by adhering to internal engineering processes. The position is a senior technical role requiring leadership qualities.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • LV and MV Systems Engineering (conceptual & detail design and development of electrical systems and          networks)
  • Design, specification, and execution of electrical systems for industrial plants
  • Design of LV & MV Motor Control Centres
  • Design of LV & MV industrial plant reticulation systems
  • Design of DC plant and battery systems
  • Design of renewable energy systems
  • Design of protection systems
  • Specification of Electrical Switchgear and Motor Protection Equipment
  • Design of cable networks and distribution systems
  • Lighting and small power designs
  • Design of earthing and lightning protection systems
  • Ensure design compliance with the South African Grid Code
  • Managing the electrical interfaces with other disciplines
  • Participation in and management of procurement and installation contracts and documentation, including tender evaluation.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant multi-disciplinary project design experience, especially in the Power Generation Industry.
  • Working knowledge of OHS Act and the Regulations.
  • Working knowledge of the Environmental Legislation.
  • Working knowledge of SANS & IEC codes, Safety Management Standards and ISO 9001.
  • Knowledge and experience with the South African Grid Code.

  • The use of ETAP or DigSilent would be very beneficial.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

PURPOSE OF ROLE

Produce quality technical outputs which satisfy all requirements (Clients, Codes and Standards) by adhering to internal engineering processes. The position is a 100% technical role.

The candidate will form part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team within Lesedi’s Engineering Department. Lesedi focuses on Engineering, Procurement and Construction projects within the Power Generation, Mining, Oil & Gas and Industrial sectors. The candidate will be responsible for the compilation and review of Process and Mechanical designs for complex piping related systems found within the applicable industrial sectors.

 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Ensure the complete design process is followed and engineering outputs are produced on time
  • Provide input to tender / enquiries & development of design concepts including estimation of workload and BoQs
  • Compile and review industrial designs
  • Ensure engineering outputs are technically correct and in accordance with the appropriate codes and standards
  • Ensure that the desired outputs in respect of the above are achieved
  • Provide inputs into planning
  • Ensure technical scope control on allocated projects
  • Develop and review equipment and material specifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the client and internal relationships.

 
 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor degree: Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification related mechanical/power engineering experience
  • Registered as a PR Eng is preferable. 
  • Experience within the power engineering and associated infrastructure would be ideal
  • Site related experience beneficial

BBBEE Officer

Job Description


Job purpose statement

The BBBEE Officer will be responsible for the administration of all BBBEE transformation interventions in the Company by ensuring that the data and reports are correctly captured and readily available for the Company to comply with legislative requirements.

The key focus is to assist with the implementation of various BBBEE initiatives in areas of ownership, management control, employment equity (EE), skills development and preferential procurement (PP).

Responsibilities

1) Effective B-BBBEE & EE reporting and administration:

  • Effectively to effectively coordinate activities for the BBBEE Audits of the company and to ensure the BBBEE targets are met.
  • The Incumbent will also be required to assist with the preparation of the Employment Equity (EE) plan and ensure compliance as prescribed by the relevant Acts.
  • Assist with the collation of all documentation and data for BBBEE reporting.
  • Assist with the collation of all Employment Equity statistics for quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Take accurate minutes in EE meetings and ensure effective distribution of action points.
  • Follow up where required and provide necessary support to the committee.

2) Effective SD&L reporting and administration:

  • Assist with implementation of SD&L obligations on projects.
  • Collate data Procurement and Skills development data for projects.
  • Coordinate CSI initiatives.
  • Liaise with CSI beneficiaries and track progress.
  • Assist with quarterly SD&L reports.

Qualifications and Experience
