The National Credit Regulator (NCR) was established as the regulator under the National Credit
Act 34 of 2005 (the Act) and is responsible for the regulation of the South African credit industry. It
is tasked with carrying out education, research, policy development, registration of industry
participants, i.e. credit providers, credit bureaux, alternative dispute resolution agents, payment
distribution agents and debt counsellors, investigation of complaints, and enforcement of the Act.
The Act requires the NCR to promote the development of an accessible credit market, particularly
to address the needs of historically disadvantaged persons, low income persons, and remote,
isolated or low density communities. The NCR invites applications from suitable candidates for the
following position:
- Office Coordinator – Office of the CFO
- Junior Bookkeeper- Accounts Payable
- Senior Registrations Officer
Office Coordinator – Office of the CFO
Position: Office Coordinator – Office of the CFO
Paterson Grade: C- Lower
Salary ranges from R159 100 – R302 300 maximum
Requirements:
The successful candidate must have three (3) years National Diploma in Office
Administration, and/or any relevant equivalent qualification, with a minimum of three (3)
years’ experience as an Office Administrator and/or Personal Assistant within a finance
environment.
Duties:
General office administration which includes the effective coordination of events and projects
in the department as well as making travelling arrangements.
Internal and external communication.
Personal Assistant duties which include but not limited to diary management and ensuring
the correct distribution of general correspondence.
Provision of effective customer relations.
Provision of professional support to the CFO.
Ensuring effective running of the CFO’s office.
Assisting with ad hoc duties and projects within the CFO’s office.
Preparation of EXCO meetings relating to finance matters.
Distribution of memos and supplier invoices within the NCR.
Preparation of Audit & Risk Management packs.
Knowledge:
Administrative processes and procedures.
Strong knowledge of MS Office suite.
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Report writing and analytical skills.
Effective planning, organising and time management.
Administrative skills.
Interpersonal relations.
Minutes taking.
Computer/ typing skills.

Junior Bookkeeper- Accounts Payable
Position: Junior Bookkeeper- Accounts Payable
Paterson Grade: B-Upper
Salary ranges from R 103 300 – R 185 900 maximum
Requirements:
- The successful candidate must have a relevant post matric qualification with accounting as a major
subject and preferably at least 1-year relevant experience.
Duties:
- Capturing of invoices in the Great Plains system.
- Accurate and timely processing and payment of creditors.
- Ensure assigned creditors statements are reconciled when preparing payments.
- Updating of the invoice register and supplier standard list.
- Providing high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
- Handling enquires from suppliers.
- Improve the efficiency of payment of suppliers within 25 days
- Provide for the proper recording of fixed assets.
- Respond to all audit requirements and address findings thereof.
- Perform monthly accounts payables sub-ledger, general ledger and reconciliation for accruals and
provisions.
Knowledge:
- Basic Knowledge of Generally Recognised Accounting Practise (GRAP).
- Knowledge of accounting processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of accounting software- Great Plains will be an added advantage.
Skills:
- High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
- High level of numerical and accuracy skills.

Position: Senior Registrations Officer
Paterson Grade: C-Upper
Salary ranges from R253 900 – R482 400 maximum

Requirements:
▪ The successful candidate must hold a 3-year Degree/Diploma in Law or Commerce with
at least 5 years relevant experience.
▪ Experience in a regulatory environment will be an added advantage.
Duties:
▪ Reviewing all applications processed by the registration officers.
▪ Reviewing memos to the finance department.
▪ Reviewing of final demand letters, withdrawal letters, refusal, and cancellation letters.
▪ Reviewing of proposed and imposed conditions of registration.
▪ Checking of registrations and renewal certificates.
▪ Assessing/Evaluating applications from significant entities, credit bureaus and alternative
dispute resolution agencies for registrations and make recommendations to the Manager or
Registration Committee
▪ Preparation of departmental reports
▪ Assisting with provision of on the job training
▪ Assist in the reviewing of departmental policies and procedures.
▪ Drafting of performance contracts and conducting performance assessment for registration
officers and data capturers.
▪ Provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
▪ Conduct credit provider’s workshop.
▪ Making presentation to internal and external stakeholders
Knowledge:
▪ Knowledge of the NCA.
▪ Registration of credit providers, debt counsellors and credit bureaus and alternative
dispute resolution agencies.
▪ Regulatory framework.
Skills:
▪ High level of computer literacy.
▪ Communication skills written and verbal.
