Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate coupled with a minimum NQF level 7 (Degree) qualification as recognosed by SAQA in Accounting or relevant field | A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ work experience in Payroll Administration and processing | Good understanding of the Oracle payroll system
Knowledge: Understanding of the mandate of the North West Provincial Legisltature and practise as well as procedures.
Skills: Presentation and facilitation skills | Communication (written and verbal) | Report-writting and evaluation | Interpersonal skills | Advanced computer skills | Financial Management | Research and information/knowledge management skills | Be able to work extended hours as and when required whilst at the time meeting deadlines.
Duties: Safeguard confidential and personal information | Maintain proper payroll administration | Liaise with and assist the auditors for payroll-related queries | Print and distribute IRP5’s to staff at tax year-end in-line with relevant Legislation | Print and distribute monthly pay slips to staff and members | Attend and resolve all salary related queries from Members of Provincial Legislature (MPL) and employees | Regular liasions with third parties on Members of Provincial Legislature (MPL) and staff payroll matters | Ensure effective payroll records management |Prepare and submit monthly payroll report to management | Prepare special reports for management whenever required | Prepare accounting transactions and documents | Reconcile to payroll close off.

Requirements: Grade 12 certificate with minimum NQF level 8 (Post Graduate Diploma/Honours Degree) Qualification as recognised by SAQA in relevant field (including Research Modules) | Minimurn one (1) to three (3) years working experience in the Research Environment | A valid drivers licence.
Knowledge: Understanding of the mandate of the North West Provincial Legislature and Practice as well as procedures| Development Sector| Monitoring and evaluation Techniques | Understanding of Legislative and Policy Framework | Policy formulation and analysis.
Skills: Research and information/knowledge management skills | Presentation and Facilitation skills | Communication (written and verbal) | Report writing and evaluation | Interpersonal skills | Advanced computer skills | Analytical skills.
Duties: Provide Portfolio Committee research support | Make briefing presentations on research findings and strategic documents analysis to portfolio committees | Analysis of AGSA report on financial performance of provincial Departments and their entities | Analysis of AGSA reports on public entities | Regular Liaison with relevant departments and entities on Portfolio Committee’s research matters | Participate in existing subject specific stakeholders network, locally, provincially and nationally | Establish and maintain relationships with external knowledge providers to the committees | Through the guidance of the Senior Researcher, develop research plan for commissioned research (e.g. petition, sectoral parliament, Bills etc.) | Through the guidance of the Senior Researcher, identify subject specific research areas and develop quarterly research plans aligned to the committee/sector to which the Researcher is assigned | Develop research proposals for the submission and quality assurance by the Senior Researcher | Conduct research, write and present findings to the committee | Maintain a filing system for all committee’s research, information and knowledge collected | Carry out any other duties that are within the scope of the job | Submit all research reports to the Senior Researcher for quality control | Contribute to the Research Field | Conduct field work oversight research | Provide content advice in Public Participation programs.
