About the Role
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for transforming raw data into actionable strategies that propel Capitec to succeed. You will utilize your Data and Analytical skills to provide support to the wider Data & Analytics team, to specified internal clients within the Bank.
Our Ideal candidate has:
- At least 3 years’ experience as Business Intelligence Analyst or equivalent (data analyst etc.) including experience in data analytics, BI methods and tools, data warehousing and the data life cycle.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in business administration, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
- Experience in identifying, quantifying, and subsequently delivering value on how to solve business challenges using data.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in working with data on cloud platforms, such as AWS or Microsoft Azure
- Experience in building data visualisations using tools such as Power BI.
- Experience of using SQL to prepare and analyse data.
What you will be doing
- To build value for the product line by solving client and business challenges using data.
- To utilise data and analytical skills and experience to build insights which enable senior decision makers to make better, informed decisions faster.
- Ensure the business requirement is documented appropriately to the correct standard and that projected timelines are agreed.
- Discuss business requirement and timelines with relevant stakeholders to prioritise tasks.
- Maintain and share data visualisations, report prototypes, data driven analyses and insights.
- Use and help develop story telling in data visualisations to communicate the insights relevant to the problem statement.
- Ensure report prototypes, data driven analyses and insights produced by self and others conform to relevant standards and Capitec methodologies.

Purpose Statement
- To contribute to the design and development of new applications / systems to meet the business requirements of the data platform environment.
- To analyse business or system requirements and build and enhance the data platforms.
- To participate in and provide input to the Architect during the compilation of solution design documentation for new and existing data platforms.
Education (Minimum)
- A relevant degree in Information Technology or Data Analysis
Education (Ideal or Preferred)
- A relevant degree in Data Engineering
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum:
Experience:
- At least 6 years’ proven experience within management information systems (MIS) | data warehousing | data transformation information systems / systems analysis together with a relevant 3 year tertiary qualification
OR
- At least 6-8 years’ proven experience within management information systems / system analysis
- Proven experience in:
- Working in a cloud environment.
- Data storage and access technologies
- Testing methodologies
- Mentorship
- Quality assuring work of others
Knowledge:
- IT systems development processes (SDLC)
- Data pipelines
- Rational database system and / or cloud data warehousing and / or big data frameworks

- Experience working in an AWS environment as well as with AWS Technologies and Azure

About the Role
In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of credit portfolio take-up propensity and price elasticity models. You will recommend strategic changes to the credit policy based on data-driven analyses at both the portfolio and segmented levels. Your will focuses on optimizing credit profits, pricing, and propensity modeling, ensuring alignment with our organization’s strategic objectives while actively monitoring and advocating for policy adjustments.
Our Ideal Candidate has
- At least 5 years’ experience in building forecast models (Sales, Propensity) or Credit Risk models (scorecards)
- At least 2 years’ management experience (leading a project or managing a team)
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification
- Solid proven ability to manipulate data (SQL/AWS)
What will YOU be doing
- Effect policy change to enable achievement of strategic objectives relating to credit profitability, pricing and portfolio propensities
- Address the operational interface (client experience and bank consultant environment and training) by liaising and coordinating with the Finance, IT and Operations teams as regards profitability, pricing and propensity related initiatives.
