South African Music Performance Rights Association (SAMPRA), a non-profit company based in Parktown, has a vacancy for a Manager of Licensing Administration and Revenue. This is a permanent position that reports to the Chief Legal and Revenue Officer. SAMPRA issues licences to music users, collects, manages, and distributes royalties on behalf of its members.
MAIN PURPOSE
To ensure that all work processed by the administration and collection team is accurate, complete and of acceptable quality. Ensure the collection of revenue through accounts receivable, new business and premium accounts and manage revenue and collections systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform management tasks including but not limited to performance management, lead and develop team members through performance review and ongoing feedback.
- Develop and implement operational reports.
- Ensure compliance with policies and processes.
- Recruit and develop team members.
- Liaise with other teams and departments to ensure the team operates optimally.
- Manage the Client Information system.
- Identify opportunities for the improvement of business processes.
- Manage the customer relationship management system.
- Identify and initiate the revision and development of licence tariffs where necessary.
- Ensure efficacy of invoicing and revenue processes, systems, and reporting.
- Perform reconciliation of invoices against licensing assessment to ensure correlation.
- Audit all the information handled by Licensing Administrators for accuracy.
- Conduct data analytics and reporting.
- Update revenue reconciliation with reconciled invoice batches.
- Analyse, Reconcile and report on departmental revenue monthly.
- Verify and ensure licence cancelation on all systems.
- Calculate commission payments of all Sales Consultants, Agents, and Prelegal Credit Controllers monthly.
- Conduct annual visits to top 20 licensees.
- Verify and approve new business applications.
- Perform any other function which management requests of you.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Experience of working in a collective management organisation or licensing environment.
- Matric and a relevant post matric qualification.
- At least 2 years’ experience of managing a team.
- Data management skills.
- Knowledge of system management.
- Competence in process development and management.
- Persuasion and conflict management skills.
- Process and workflow management skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal relations.
- Ability to co-ordinate team activities.
- Reporting skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Above average customer service.
- Ability to work in a team and alone.
- The ability to exercise professional judgment.
- Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CRM
- Self-directed.
- Confident and persistent.
