Regional Retail Operations Manager

Introduction

SPAR North Rand is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Regional Retail Operations Manager (D) – Build it to join our dynamic team.

Duties & Responsibilities

PURPOSE:
The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for growing DC and Retail Sales through providing a comprehensive business consulting service to our Build It Stores

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Ensuring that all Build It stores are maintained at a level of excellence
• Assisting Build It stores to be profitable
• Measuring business performance through the use of information technology
• Analysis of financial results.
• Advising on modern retail trends in hardware utilizing category management
• Performing store audits through structured store visits and the circulation of written reports to regional and national office where appropriate
• Preparing business plans for stores.
• Improving image and standards of all stores.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Matric Certificate
• Business/Financial Management Diploma
• MCSE or similar tertiary IT qualification – mandatory
• Retail systems qualification (IQ Enterprise)
• Customer focused
• Negotiation skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Project management skills
• Innovative
• Stress tolerance and integrity
• Retail Management experience preferably at senior management level would be an advantage
• New store development skills
• The ability to develop an open, sincere and trusting relationship with our retailers
• Understanding of tax laws
• High energy level and the ability to operate under pressure
• Ability to work within a team whilst able to work independently
• Computer literate
• Driver’s license a necessity
• Must be willing to travel extensively

Admin Controller

Introduction

A position has become available for an Admin Controller to join our dynamic team, based in the Eastern Cape.

Duties & Responsibilities

To coordinate and oversee corporate stores’ administrative function.
 
Key Performance Areas:
 

• Manage stores full accounting functions.
• Prepare and monitor Budgets – sales, expenses, and margins.
• Conduct audits on store processes and procedures.
• Conducting stock takes and ensuring procedures are adhered to.
• Oversee Corporate stores’ HR function.
• Facilitate communications between Retail and DC.
• Provide support to the Admin team and Store managers.
• Ensure store compliance with all legislative requirements and SPAR specifications.
• Other ad hoc duties.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Diploma / Degree – required.
• 5 years retail experience – 2 years admin (finance).
• Good interpersonal skills and be customer focused.
• Knowledge of Easy Accounts and Sigma would be an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational and clerical skills.
• Good computer skills.
• Deadline driven.
• Ability to work in an organized and systematic manner.
• Must be prepared to work on weekends and Public Holidays.
• Valid driver’s license – willing to travel.

Bookkeeper

Introduction

A position has become available for a Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team, based in the Eastern Cape.

Duties & Responsibilities

To analyse and compile financial information for SPAR EC DC Retail stores.
 
Key Performance Areas:
 

• Management and completion of store control accounts.
  Month end procedures.
  Preparation and posting of journals.
• Monitoring Creditors and Debtors ageing and ensure maintained at current levels with support of Clerks.
• EFT payment schedules – weekly.
• Correct allocation to G/L Accounts.
• Inter-branch transfers and inter-company accounts.
• Preparation of Balance Sheet Recons.
• Team Supervision.
• Provide support to stores.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets.
• Assist with year-end audit requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with internal controls, best operating practices and the implementation and maintenance of adequate control systems.
• Responsible for adherence to statutory requirements.
• Ad hoc tasks and duties.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Matric.
• Diploma / Degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping – required.
• A minimum of 3 Years Accounting / Bookkeeping experience (essential).
• Knowledge of Easy Accounts would be an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational skills.
• Good computer skills.
• Deadline driven.
• Ability to work in an organized and systematic manner.

Introduction

We are currently recruiting for a Store Manager located in the Paarl area – Western Cape.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with opening and closing
• Pro active approach to job
• Attention to detail – most important – to ensure shop looks clean and tidy
• Supervision of cashiers
• Regular floor walks to ensure departments operating efficiently
• Ordering
• Price changes

Desired Experience & Qualification

2. Previous experience in a retail (FMCG) position compulsory
