PROCESS SUPPORTER
Functional Definition:
Supports the Production Process leader in the organization and control of operational activities within the area the Production Process Leader is responsible for. Performs basic maintenance activities in support of artisans in Production Process Leader area.
Accountability:
Is accountable to the Production Process Leader and in matrix to the Production Engineer
Responsible to ensure output from designated area achieved as per agreement.

Stand-in-Function:
Stands in for the other Process Supporter as and when required, with taking over all responsibilities in respect of quality, flexibility, productivity and HR-related issues on a functional basis.
Working together with artisans on line in areas assigned – monitor line operation and escalate whenever stoppages occur.
Quality:
Ensure adherence to the IMS (Integrated Management System).
Continually initiates improvements towards set targets (CIP) and leads team to achieve targets – must follow-up on team CIP ideas and supply regular feedback.

Maintenance:
Identify possible equipment failures by means of visual inspections.

Replace proxies and cables when faulty.
Change caps on automatic weld guns.
Change electrodes on manual weld guns.

Reset errors and restart all hanger equipment and conveyors where applicable
Support maintenance to replace sealer drums in the SCA Sealer systems when empty.

Together with Process leader must implement actions to ensure output not affected due to absenteeism.

The body in white technical team is responsible for the maintenance and running of all technical equipment required to produce the body in white.

The body in white production team is responsible for the manufacturing and assembling of the body in white at Plant Rosslyn.
Summary of duties

SPECIALIST: FIRE PROTECTION, EMERGENCY AND MEDICAL RESPONSE
Purpose of the Job
Responsible for designing processes, policies, and procedures to identify and manage threats to with relevance to Fire. Main focus is identifying external and internal risks that the organization face, evaluating the likely effect of these risks, introducing a range of control measures and monitoring and evaluating the successes of these measures.
Responsibility is specific towards the industrial and production environment, in particular the impact fire loss may have on the business, processes and people, integrating risk data from multiple systems and processes in determining profile.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, designing and implementing fire risk management processes for the organization by developing operating models.
- Risk assessment which involves managing the process of analyzing risks as well as identifying, describing and estimating the quantitative and qualitative risks affecting the business.
- Risk reporting in an appropriate way for different audiences, e.g. to the board of directors so they understand the most significant risks, to business heads to ensure they are aware of risks relevant to their parts of the business and to individuals to understand their accountability for individual risks.
- Monitoring and reviewing processes to ensure risk and compliance arrangements are in place.
- Conducting audits of policy and compliance to standards, including liaison with internal and external auditors.
- Providing support, education and training.
Policies and Procedures:
- Design and implementation of policies, processes and procedures, in line with BMW Group Risk Management, local legislation and insurance standards/guidelines.

Fire Loss & Business Interruption Prevention Management:

- Increase emergency awareness and preparedness amongst BMW SA employees, contractors and visitors.

- To serve and protect human life, property, and reduce loss of revenue and/or goodwill through rapid emergency response, delivering a service in:
- Fire suppression.

Fire Safety Legal Compliance Assurance (Internal & External Audits):
- Through regular internal and external audits, reduce risks towards human life, production business, property and contents.
- Liaise with the local government on fire safety legislative changes that could impact on the production environment.
- Internal liaison/cooperation with relevant Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) staff, and external liaison/cooperation with local authorities (especially fire department), regarding the following:
- Networking/liaison with fire department to ensure active partnership and plant knowledge.
- Conduct pre-incident planning with the Local Emergency Services.
Change Management – HPR and Fire Safety Guidelines Consultation:
- Ensuring that all changes- structural, process and chemical related-in the production and administrative environment satisfy the requirements of the national legislator and insurer.
- Plant Chemical Approval and Releases (ZEUS System).
- Responsible for ensuring that the use, storage and decanting of chemicals used in the production environment is in accordance with the requirements of the national legislator and insurer.
- BMW Critical Supplier Audit: Fire Loss and BI Prevention Consultation.
- Auditing critical production suppliers, and in consultation with production critical suppliers and the BMW Procurement Department, reduce risks impacting on production.
Fire Safety Legislative Advisor to ZA-J:
- Consult with BMW Legal Department on the fire safety requirements where BMW enter into lease agreements.
- Review of lease agreements and consultation with BMW representatives to reduce legal liability.
- Manage Integrated Management System ZA-P in support of ISO 9000, ISO 14000, ISO 45001 and OSHAS 1800 and legal requirements.
- Manage and control IMS representative activities/processes for ZA -P in support of ISO 9000, ISO 14000, OSHAS 1800 and legal requirements.
Engineering and Technology Management for Fire Protection:
- Evaluation of Fire Protection Systems & Concepts.
- Evaluate the fire protection concepts, organization & systems.
- Consult to the Facility and Energy Department with regards to Building Protection system technology, HPR and loss prevention.

Qualifications:
- B-Tech Fire Technology.
- National Diploma in Fire Technology.
- National Diploma in Safety Management is advantageous.
- Certification in Fire Investigations, Hazmat – Awareness Responder.
- Nebosh International General Safety Certificate essential.
- National Diploma in Business / Personnel Administration will be advantageous.
- Certifications in or demonstrable working knowledge in ISO 9001, 14000 and 450001 is advantageous.
- Suitable exposure/qualification in Fire Engineering.
Skills and Experience:
- 10 to 15 years of experience in the Production and Manufacturing Industry (Automotive Sector would be advantageous).
- 8 to 10 years of experience managing teams; effective contractor management experience is essential.
- 8 to 10 years of demonstrable conflict resolution and problem-solving.
- Suitable experience in risk management and loss prevention.

Responsible towards the function Tx-45 the area of Launch and special vehicles Assembly within the agreed objectives (quality, cost, quantity, on-time delivery).

SPECIALIST: QMP DIRECT PURCHA
Role Description
As a Parts Quality Specialist (Quality Management Parts) for Interior Trim, you will be responsible to:
- Develop and approve Suppliers processes and Quality systems to ensure parts conform to relevant BMW standards – confirm launch capability for all new parts and processes.
- Approve delivered parts quality from suppliers – parts delivered to the defined BMW quality level and associated ISIR’s (Initial Sample Inspection Report)are released accordingly.
- Manage supplier performance with regards to supplier process quality – suppliers and sub-suppliers are producing parts to meet all relevant BMW standards. Positively impact on KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) which are Supplier Responsible, supplier performance and competence assessment.
- Deliver QMP activities for all components within a module – all components within the agreed scope are delivered in line with BMW processes and timing to meet project milestones and targets.
- Series QMP escalation – Group network escalation route and supplier selection input
- Problem Quality Management (PQM) – solves non-conformances to ensure timely and sustainable resolution to supplier caused quality defects.
- Purchasing structure communication – integrate into the BMW QMP network to ensure open communication between commodities for a stronger face to suppliers
Qualifications and experience
- BSc Industrial / Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with more than 5 years experience in a relevant technical field
