As a Business Intelligence Analyst III (BI Analyst III) at Capitec Bank, you’ll play a pivotal role in leveraging data to solve client and business challenges. Your expertise will drive insights that empower senior decision-makers to make informed choices swiftly. Key Responsibilities:

1. Ownership and Responsibility: Take charge of allocated focus areas, proposing enhancements to the Business Intelligence Analysis practice. Identify opportunities to add value and foster a data-driven decision-making culture.
2. Management and Delivery: Manage and fulfill business requirements effectively, utilizing relevant tools and methodologies. Build strong relationships to influence and guide in Business Intelligence Analysis.
3. Data Insights Delivery: Develop and communicate data-driven insights, utilizing visualizations and storytelling techniques. Continuously refine standards to align with Capitec methodologies.

Requirements:

About the role

Our ideal candidate would have exposure to banking or financial services. In this role you will be required to provide commercial analytical support to business decision makers, through your analysis of financial and non-financial data and identifying opportunities to improve financial outcomes and hold product heads accountable for their cost structures and their return generated thereon. You will also be responsible for establishing and running a fully functional activity-based costing (ABC) models and setting the internal transfer pricing strategy.

What you will bring

A completed degree in commerce; Management Accounting/Financial Management/Financial Accounting.  Along with exposure to Activity Based Costing, Budgeting, Forecasting and Performance Management, Financial Modelling and Data Manipulation.

What you will be doing

• Drive the utilisation of costing and profitability information throughout the company.
• Support the design, build and maintenance of the cost model
• Report/Model:
  • Financial & non-financial actuals/forecasts to support decision-making.
  • Trend analysis & insights, identify opportunities and measure value shifts.
  • Build, maintain improve and automate dashboards to provide “always on, always available” business analytics.
  • Competitor/Market analysis and benchmarking, budgeting/variance analysis, and resource optimisation.
  • Support the delivery of business insights with a focus on collecting, managing, analysing, visualising data, developing analytical solutions and finding patterns.
  • Support in maintaining and continuously improving the Activity Based Cost (ABC) model across multiple dimensions, keeping it relevant and up to date and improving transparency.

Ideally you will have

Our ideal candidate would have a completed Masters Degree in Accounting/Financial Accounting or Finance, as a Registered CA (SA) or complete CIMA (Chartered Management Accountant) with experience in either banking or financial services. As a Manager you will bring proven financial management experience at a senior management level, managing a team of qualified financial professionals in the capacity of Financial Business Partners and Costing Analyst, focusing on team development, be responsible for ensuring their allocated divisional Opex and Capex are within budget. In addition, you will have experience in strategic business partnering and providing business insights, annual budgeting and monthly forecasting, management reporting by building and maintaining profitability views for the various lines of units and understand the drivers within these units, as well as perform cost benefit analysis or profitability reports using ABC costing principles.

About the role

Your key focus areas will be to ensure that Capitec Bank’s strategic objectives i.e., profit, efficiency, processes and procedures are managed and that your team are able to drive these objectives within their portfolios. You will build relationships with a variety of business stakeholders and identify innovative and proactive implementable solutions with your expertise and knowledge within retail credit, compliance legislation, operational finance, and financial assets.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading a team of costing analysts and finance business partners with a primary focus on the retail credit business. The role will also look after a component of fee income (non-credit related income) but the primary focus will be credit.
• A solid understanding of IFRS9 will be advantageous in this role
• Working closely with the provisioning and credit teams to understand the drivers of the retail credit book performance and unpacking thereof
• Reporting measures like return on equity for the credit business and enhancing the understanding thereof
• Reviewing and understanding the credit-related forecasts and budgets of the retail bank
