Sales Consultant – Accounting & Payroll
Job Description Sales Consultants at Sage are the engine that drives our business. In this hybrid-office based role that contributes directly to our organisations bottom line, you will drive sales and build lasting relationships with our clients, while writing your own pay cheque. You will have a strong focus on lead generation, engaging potential clients, conducting consultative sales, presenting our Accounting and Payroll Cloud products, and closing deals.
The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of outbound sales experience preferably in a call centre or customer facing environment, a proven track record of meeting targets, and familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills are essential. Join us and contribute to our growth and success while enjoying a collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities Day-to-day responsibilities –
- On a daily basis, conduct outbound calls to potential clients based on provided leads and target lists.
- Collaborate with sales managers and team members to optimize sales strategies that drive individual and team performance.
First 90 days snapshot –
- Starting off in the role will see you being upskilled and trained on the features, benefits, and applications of our products/services.
- Continuously participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and understanding of Salesforce functionalities.
- Initially, you will work onsite every day. However, based on the targets you achieve, you may transition to working onsite 2 to 3 days a week, with Wednesdays being mandatory
Who you’ll be working with –
- You will join a team of 8 Sales Consultants, and will work closely with other Sales Teams and colleagues across the business in supporting our sales efforts.
- You will report to a Sales Manager for New Customer Acquisitions who has a successful track record of growth within our business over the past 10 years.
Minimum Qualifications –
- 3 – 5 years experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in a B2B sales environment, knowledge of Software Sales and understanding of customer needs and pain points as well as a Salesforce Certification will ensure you stand out from other candidates.

Key Responsibilities • Build a pipeline of sales opportunities with the Sage Intacct channel
- Developing and growing the sales opportunity pipeline while improving efficiency and keeping the channel energized and motivated during this process.
- Focus on generating new business – self generated sales opportunities for Sage to grow the market share.
- Identify major opportunities within channel partners and co-ordinate Sage Intacct activities through pre-sales/solution consultants etc to grow our brand
- On-site and virtual demonstrations of the solution in close collaboration with the channel and solution consulting team
- Achieve mutually agreed upon sales quota
- Manage and close Sage Intacct sales opportunities through partner account strategy, forecasting, account resource allocation and planning
- Initiate joint business planning and marketing plans with partners including individual responsibility for a sales objective.
- Establish a vertical / industry focus with the rest of the sales and solution consultant teams
- Identify marketplace partners to collaborate with and build out the product offering
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Sage Intacct and keeping up to date with industry trends, technology and competitors

Key Responsibilities • Responsible for managing a Sales Team in the medium segment. - Develop team members to exceed goals using a multifaced approach that includes coaching, training and goal setting/ tracking and implementation of development plans.
- Drive team dynamics.
- Drive and ensure quota achievement per product line.
- Measure existing KPIs, pull actionable insights, and build/maintain dashboards and reports that illustrate progress against quarterly basis.

- Self-starter and independent thinker with the aptitude to work.
- Clear understanding and ability to drive results through others.
- Proven track record in developing or contributing to short, medium, and long-term plans to achieve strategic objectives, monitoring those plans, and adjusting as needed.
