Woodridge Preparatory School has the following position available.

Skills and Requirements:

IT Teacher

  • An appropriate professional teaching qualification from a recognised institution;
  • Experience in teaching IT as a subject and incorporating IT in the classroom is essential;
  • Experience in teaching coding and robotics would be advantageous;
  • Knowledgeable and intellectually inquisitive with the drive and passion for developing/caring for children;
  • An open and creative outlook to education and the ability to adapt to changing needs of education in a primary school;
  • Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills (with pupils, staff and parents);
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills;
  • Exceptional administration skills and a willingness to develop inspiring, contemporary teaching material;
  • Ability to promote and embrace diversity and inclusion;
  • Willingness and commitment to contribute to the School extracurricular, sport and outdoor education programmes;
  • SACE registered with the requisite clearance certificates.

Duties and Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving the integration and implementation of technology in the classroom across all subject areas;
  • Taking responsibility for teaching IT for Grades 1-Grade 7 (planning, preparing and delivering lessons);
  • Ensuring a classroom environment that promotes learning;
  • Incorporating thinking skills in order to foster independent, critical and creative thinkers;
  • Applying differential lesson plans to meet the educational needs, abilities and achievements of the individual pupil and groups of pupils;
  • Communicating effectively and developing relationships at all levels with pupils, staff and parents;
  • Collaborating with colleagues, must be a team player;
  • Keeping attendance records and ensuring order and discipline from pupils;
  • Contributing meaningfully to the life and extracurricular activities of the School, including pastoral care, sport, outdoor education and other school events/functions;
  • Incorporating the ethos and values of the School into all aspects of education;
  • General administration.

Part-Time Position:

Primary School Coding & Robotics Teacher

with effect from January 2025

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Coding and Robotics Teacher to introduce primary school students to this exciting world. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching technology-related subjects and be able to create a fun and inspiring learning experience. Join us in inspiring the next generation of innovators and problem solvers!

Applicants will need to demonstrate proven capacity in the following areas:

  • Relevant training in education and coding and robotics.
  • Experience teaching Primary School children (8 – 11 year olds).
  • Flexibility in working as part of a dynamic team.
  • Knowledge and experience in teaching coding and robotics.

This position offers 6-8 teaching hours per week.
