PURPOSE: Assist the Senior Manager (CMU) in the management and control of all contractual aspects of projects, ensuring that all contract’s purpose, scope, objectives, constraints and risks are developed, managed to ensure effective and efficient implementation of projects in line with the company strategic objectives and are in compliance with relevant policies and legislations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly manage all Commercial aspects of CAPEX Projects. Assist Senior manager in developing and implementing policies, procedures and guidelines for CAPEX Contract administration with the latest MFMA, PFMA and JW SCM policies. Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation in line with SDBIP/ Infrastructure Planning/ PMU and ESU standards. Implement SHREQ where appropriate. Apply General Business Practices (Business Acumen). Performing and discussing, in line with Performance Management System, the Performance Appraisal on a quarterly basis. Recommend training needs of the Quantity Surveyors. Manage contractors and project implementation in liaison with Senior Manager PMU. Manage procurement process for all CAPEX Contractors. Manage the quality of Tender/Bid Documents prepared by PMU/ESU and Outsourced Service Providers. Develop appropriate procedures (SOPs) to provide sustainable Legal Contracts Management services. Develop and manage CAPEX budget control expenditure by ensuring spending is appropriate and necessary for achievement of objectives. Administer the CAPEX Legal Contracts Management Dashboard. Compile reports and statistics on Legal Compliance. Manage and utilise in-house MIS system relevant to the discipline. Manage and utilise the relevant software to meet contractual MFMA and PFMA requirements. Assist PMU in procurement process of Capital and Operation projects within the CAPEX environment. Be directly responsible for CAPEX/OPERATIONS Procurement Documents from Bid documents reviews to Tender Award. Assist Senior Manager to operate and maintain a dashboard of all CAPEX/Operations Bids/Tenders.

PURPOSE:

Develop and facilitate the implementation of company-wide Talent Management and Performance Management initiatives and programmes that support organisational objectives and HR processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and maintain policies relating to the Company’s Talent Management and Performance Management (T & PM) strategies and ensure that these adhere to South African legislation. Manage individual and team performance. Set up internal communication processes including forums and committees. Develop the entity’s Strategic Workforce Plan by initiating the HR planning and forecasting process with Senior management. Advise forums on succession planning requirements. Develop specialist career grades in conjunction with line managers and monitor implementation. Ensure the implementation of company-wide exit and entrance interviews analyse the information and identify trends and interventions. Calculate monthly, quarterly, and annual turnover, retention and attrition statistics for reporting to EXCO and the Board. Manage the initiation of the Engineering Capacitation Programme in conjunction with the line managers. Monitor the progress of Trainee Engineers on the programme. Ensure maintenance of a database on SAP of registered engineers and scientists. Represent JW on the CoJ Engineering Forum. Promote compliance to JW’s Performance Management policy and procedures to ensure the timely completion of performance contracting, monitoring, evaluation and reporting processes throughout the Company. Consolidate an annual performance score database from the RHRM input. Conduct training on performance management and systems for employees. SAFETY PRACTITIONER X2 – REF: JW392EX/2024

Job Description

REMUNERATION: R375 552 BASIC SALARY PER ANNUM

PURPOSE: To ensure compliance by Johannesburg Water and its appointed contractors in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and its associated regulations and more specifically the Constructions Regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Implement, maintain and audit the ISO 45001 system. Lead the risk assessment process at allocated operational sites. Identify procedures and documents required by the system. Lead incident investigations at all allocated sites for all first aid, medical and disabling injuries, including section 24 incidents. Compile investigation reports with all necessary documents and submit a report to the Safety Specialist and Occupational Health Nurse. Develop baseline risk assessments for CAPEX and Operations projects and ensure that this document and the specification are issued to all bidding contractors. Induct all newly appointed contractors on JW OHS requirements and provide them with the requirements for submitting the safety file. Evaluate and recommend for approval / non-approval all safety files allocated to you and submit a report to the Safety Specialist. Conduct monthly audits on all allocated projects and submit reports to the Safety Specialist. Conduct weekly inspections at all allocated sites and submit reports to the Safety Specialist.

• National Diploma Safety Management or Environmental Health (NQF6)

• 4 years’ experience in OHS in construction management and systems implementation.
