DIVISIONAL MANAGER: HUMAN SETTLEMENT
DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
Dues:
Reporng directly to the Manager Planning and Development Services, the incumbent will
perform the following dues:
● Manage and administer applicaons for low-cost housing and other housing iniaves ●
Provide advisory services to council regarding housing programs ● Manage the personnel
funcon by allocang tasks and providing guidance ● Ensure the enforcement of the
municipal policies. Manage the division’s budget ● Maintain quality customer service ●
Liaising with stakeholders on a regular basis ● Inform/ educate people in respect of the
requirements for low-cost housing determined by the department of Human Selements
● Determine and liaise with other directorates within the municipality regarding housing
needs in order to plan ahead ● Communicate with the Provincial department of Human
Selements regarding the housing programs and projects underway ● Compile reports for
Management and Council ● Implementaon of Council resoluons. ● Assist Management
in addressing the audit acon plan ● Assist management in addressing the risk acon
plans.
Requirements:
B Tech / B Degree in Built – Environment or equivalent. Technical experse and computer
literacy is required.
5 years relevant experience, which 3 years must be at supervisory level.
A valid code B driver license
Knowledge of housing standards and relevant legislaon.
Project Management would be an added advantage.
Skills: Communicaon skills and interpersonal skills.
Salary Scale: R 536 244, 00 per annum
DIVISIONAL MANAGER: LEGAL SERVICES
DEPARTMENT OF CORPORATE SUPPORT SERVICES
Dues:
Reporng directly to the Manager: Corporate Support Services, the incumbent will perform
the following dues:
● Develop and implement legal service policies and procedures ● Contract management and
negoaon ● Compile reports and acon audit findings ● Financial management of the
division● Manage the execuon of ligaon, by-laws, and contract management in the
Municipality ● Provide general legal and administrave direcve in the unit ● Provide legal
comments on items that have to be submied to Council, Execuve commiee, Porolio
commiee and Execuve management● Prepare legal reports to Council, Execuve
Commiee and Porolio commiee ● Prepare legal advice to the Municipal Manager, Head
of departments, Mayor and Council ● Interact with external legal advisors of Council with
regard to ligaon and any legal maer ● Manage contracts for external legal services ● Give
guidance, legal opinions and advice to Directorates with regard to legal aspects ● Make sure
that legal documents are aended to meously e.g. summons and affidavits ● manage the
draing of the by-laws and amendments to legislaon and delegated legislaon ● Manage all
Legal Risk ● Monitor and ensure Legal Compliance ● Manage Ligaons for and against
Municipality ● Aend to Bill of Cost ● Aend to Court Orders ● Knowledge of Rules of the
Court
Requirements:
Matric, LLB Degree or equivalent legal qualificaons and registered with a professional body.
Be in possession of a valid driver license and 5 years relevant experience in the legal field of
which 3 years is at supervisory level. Must be admied Aorney or Advocate of the high court
of South Africa. Valid driver’s license, Computer literacy: MS Office.
Salary Scale: R 536 244, 00 per annum
ASSISTANT LABOUR RELATIONS OFFICER
Dues:
Reporng directly to the Labour Relaons Officer, the incumbent will perform the
following dues:
●Manage employee relaons funcon ● Render administrave support to Labour
Relaons Unit ● Undertaking acvies to support the Labour relaons officer in ensuring
that labour relaons pracces are consistently applied and communicated across the
municipality ● Establishing and maintain appropriate usage and recording of all
documentaon related to Labour relaons policies and procedures ●Taking minutes at
meengs convened or chaired by Labour Relaons Officer on labour relaons issues
●Ensuring that the minutes, data for reporng and labour relaons documentaon is kept
up to date and filled appropriate ●Arranging venues for all disciplinary and grievances
hearings ● Aending disciplinary , grievances and appeal hearings as Human Resources
representave and interpreter as requested by Labour relaons Officer ● Facilitang the
successful resoluon of employee complaints and grievances ● Providing stascal reports
on disciplinary , grievances , disputes and appeal cases of the Labour relaons officer ● Facilitang/coordinang the informaon sessions regarding condions of services of the
municipality employees ●Preparaon of LLF meengs including the agenda and taking
minutes of the meeng ● Perform other HR funcons as directed by the Supervisor.

following fields:
· Labour Laws (Labour Relaons Act; Basic Condion of Employment Act;

SOCIAL MEDIA ADMINISTRATOR (Internship)
DEPARTMENT OF MUNICIPAL MANAGER
Dues: Reporng directly to Divisiona Head Communicaons: the incumbent will perform
the followingdues:
coordinate ● social media communicaons & channels, including facebook, Twier
Instagram, YouTube and other relevant plaorms ● Work as part of a team to develop
social media campaigns ● Propose new ideas and concepts for social media plaorms ●
Monitoring social media channels to respond appropiately to posts/ comments, and
idenfying issues that require escaon ● analyse and report audience in formaon and
demographics, and success of exisng social media projects ● Monitor feedback
comments posted on social media plaorm in collaboraon with customer support unit in
order to respond to inquiries ● Support events of the Mayor and Municipal events by
providing social media services.
Requirements:
Matric plus Diploma/ Naonal Cerficate or equivalent in Public relaons, Knowledge in
managing social media plaorms or brands, photography, videography eding and design
experience will be an advantage ● Interview different stakeholders and produce write-ups
on various human selements and sector issues ●Ability to funcon well under pressure
and meet prescribed deadlines ● A Valid South African drivers licence required ●
Candidate must have some wring skill and be highly proficient in English language
