INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITY: SENIOR ENGLISH TEACHER
Description
The International School of Martyrs (ISM) is the oldest international school in North Africa,
having opened in 1954 as the Oil Companies School for the children of oil executives and
diplomats posted to Libya.
We are seeking a resilient and committed Senior English teacher to join our High School in
January 2025.
The successful candidate will:
● Be a qualified teacher (Bachelor of Education/Undergraduate degree + PGCE/HDE).
● Be fluent in both written and spoken English
● Be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel to Libya in early January 2025.
The position has the following benefits attached:
● Competitive tax-free salary paid in US Dollars (between $1800 – $2500 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
● Monthly living allowance paid in Libyan Dinars (between LYD1000 – LYD1500, depending on qualifications and experience.
● Free, fully-furnished accommodation (with utilities paid for)
● Annual return airfare to home country (cost of airfare to Libya at start of contract covered by school)
● Health insurance
● Cost of visa covered by school
Please note: Only single travellers or teaching couples can be considered for this role. The
school cannot accommodate minor or non-teaching adult dependents.
