Job Description

 ERP Specialist (Ref C539)

Minimum Requirements:

  • An NQF level 7 qualification in Information Technology / Computer Science / Software Development or equivalent relevant qualification in ICTS
  • 3 years’ experience as an ERP Specialist
  • 2 years’ experience dealing with business analysis
  • Certification in ERP systems and applications.
  • ERP development tools
  • ERP coding languages
  • Business process development

Duties (but not limited to):

  • Receive a request for functionality and analyze to determine the type of requirement.
  • Facilitate the meeting/workshop in accordance with the business requirements inclusive of all relevant role players.
  • Analyze the impact of the possible implementation of functionality to ensure that system inter-dependence is considered.
  • Document the deliverables in the prescribed format for business needs.
  • Check the current status of systems, applications, licenses and skills to determine future requirements in terms of scalability and capacity; or monitor the systems to determine the performance
  • analyze the future requirements to determine capacity
  • Compare the current capacity to the future
  • Contribute to the compilation of the optimization plan in accordance with the requirements:
    • Licenses
    • Capacity on Platforms
    • Applications
    • Systems
    • Resources
  • Implement the optimization plan to ensure optimal
  • Monitor the systems to ensure that the business targets are met.
  • Receive and analyse a request to determine the nature and extent of the support to be provided; or
  • The need for provision of support is identified during the execution of output.
  • Diagnose the problem to determine the appropriate action:
    • Provide information
    • Provide possible solutions
    • Conduct research to develop a solution
  • Test the solution to ensure that the diagnosed problem is
  • Implement the solution in accordance with procedures and test to ensure that the solution is functional.
  • Monitor the implemented solution for a period in accordance with the impact on the system.
  • Receive and analyse a request for the development of functionality to determine the nature of the functionality; or Identify the need for new functionality during operational
  • Conduct an impact study to determine the possible effect on the current- and associated systems.
  • Conduct a feasibility study to determine the cost of the implementation of the functionality.

Job Description

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is charged with ensuring that the University to utilize digital information and advanced technologies, such as the cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, automation, IoT, mobile and social media, to create value for users so as to realize the objectives of ENVISION2030. The CIO is responsible for the formulation, planning, implementing and managing the University’s digitization strategies, investments, project portfolios and operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An NQF level 9 qualification in Information Technology/Computer Science/ Engineering
  • Ten (10) years ICT management experience of which 5 years at a senior management level
  • Proven track record in ICTS service, support and infrastructure management in a medium – large organization
  • Proven leadership of successful digital transformation projects
  • Ten (10) years’ experience across the ICTS value chain
  • Preferred Qualification: A relevant NQF level 10 qualification

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse the DUT strategy and roadmap to determine the future trends, strategic direction and legal implications
  • Define & maintain the currency and business relevance of the ICT strategy through participation in organizational strategic planning processes
  • Align ICT objectives and programs (infrastructure, process and systems enhancements) to enterprise objectives and priorities
  • Define and manage the ICT Service Delivery processes and resource these with adequate capacity
  • Lead digital transformation efforts across the entire organization
  • Set and implement digital strategy by working with cross-functional partners to transition from traditional to digital processes.
  • Maintain & Support business applications according to agreed SLA’s, governance standards and ICT strategy.
  • Maintain and Support Business Intelligence capability and service the business with appropriate management reporting solutions.
  • Ensure appropriate & adequate Infrastructure availability and capacity
  • Define ICT service management processes and ensure compliance to appropriate governance standards.
  • Define the objectives for ICTS in accordance with the ICTS strategy
  • Work closely with Human Capital Services to attract and retain top talent, and to build digital capabilities across the company
  • Analyse the business/project plan to determine the financial requirements
  • Manage on-going security monitoring of information systems including assessing information security risk through qualitative risk analysis on a regular basis, conducting functional and gap analyses to determine the extent to which key business areas and infrastructure comply with statutory and regulatory requirements, evaluating and recommending new information security technologies and countermeasures against threats to information or privacy, and developing security reports and dashboards
