This twelve-month contract position will be based at the Emavundleni Research Centre in Crossroads and Phillipi Village, Cape Town. The main purpose of this position is to educate, recruit, prepare and facilitate a supportive environment for a successful conduct of trials happening at Emavundleni Center, through partnership, education and awareness as set out in the Community Engagement Plan.
Minimum Requirements:

Responsibilities:
- Work with the Community Liaison Officer (CLO) in identifying and facilitating partnership with key
organizations and services in the community - Plan and implement community education and awareness events
- Work in conjunction with the Community Advisory Board (CAB) on all relevant aspects of maintaining a
productive/enabling relationship between the community and the clinical research site (CRS) - Ensure community education, recruitment and retention activities are well understood by outside partners
so that study accrual and retention targets are met - Ensure distribution of recruitment and educational materials in the community
- Conduct prevention discussion groups with potential participants
- Recruits educate and retain study participants by implementing recruitment plans
- Compile and submit progress on general recruitment of participants to the CLO
- Do home visits for participants who are not available when called or miss their visits and as requested by
study coordinators and whenever necessary - Submit weekly written activity reports to CLO
- Participate in all relevant study training sessions
- Attend offsite conferences and protocol meetings when required
- Assist with translation activities when required
- Assist with entering participants onto the co-enrolment system
- Work and support CAB in all community related activities in ensuring the advisory role is effective.
- Attend and contribute to Community Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and activities
- Plan and coordinate Community Awareness events and assist CLO in conducting events
- Introduce new and update CAB on studies at CAB meetings
- Assist CLO with CAB training program

DTHF currently has a vacancy for a Grants Manager (GM). This individual is responsible for
managing the full grants function of the organisation and all related Grants income. Reporting
directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and informing the CFO on tactical matters as they
relate to donor relations, grant projections, budget management, Debtors and invoicing,
promoting process improvement, and policy updates with changing regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in finance and/or related field of study
- Minimum of five years’ Grant management/ accounting experience including the
preparation of Audit Committee Reports, management accounts and income and
expenditure statements - Minimum 5 years experience managing staff
- Experience in working on SAP Business 1 or similar financial software
- Knowledge of Office Suite and Excel
- Knowledge of grants policies and procedures (e.g. NIH and EU)
- Knowledge and implementation of SARS rules on VAT of income

Responsibilities:
Optimising the grants system
- Ensuring all Standing Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and policies are in place
- Develop a dashboard in SAP for visibility of the grants function
Financial reporting and risk mitigation
- Oversee the Debtors function and ensure that invoicing takes place as per
milestones and according funder contracting - Quarterly reporting to the Audit & Risk Committee on grants pipeline and project
sustainability status - Oversee the issuance of valid, accurate and complete grant related information to
auditors, funders and any other ad hoc stakeholders
Grants Finance Management:
- Oversee grants management process flow and SOP to ensure timely submission of
grants to funding agencies (within due dates) - Develop and maintain expertise in the grants proposal legal framework and funder
requirements - Assign and support the Grants Finance Officer allocation to new grant proposals, to
ensure the financial requirements of the organisation are met - Develop and maintain a database for active grants to ensure that all post-award
reporting deadlines are adhered to and sustainability can be measured - Ensure funder specific compliance requirements are met with regards to proper
allocation of revenue and expenditure to projects - Maintain a high level of knowledge of grant contract terms and conditions to support
problem solving and resolution of complex post-award issues (e.g. carry-over requests,
resourcing of early termination costs, Project-to-Project cost allocations, etc.) - Ensure cohesion between core finance and grants finance to efficiently and effectively
manage post award reporting - Sign off on all funder financial reports and present to CFO monthly for final sign off by
CFO - Manage the organisation revenue for sustainability through the invoicing and Budget vs
Actual expenditure monitoring across all active awards for presentation to CFO - Close out inactive awards and keep accurate and up to date database of changes to
status of projects

ASSISTANT COMPUTER LAB ADMINISTRATORS (x3)
Customer Services (CSD) is a division of the Information & Communication Technology Services (ICTS) department.
The division is responsible for the IT Helpdesk, classroom support services, student computing lab management
services, installations, service level agreements and communicating with the University community on behalf of ICTS.
Applications are invited for a contract position which runs up until the end of November each year. The contract is
renewable annually in the ICTS-managed student computing labs. The successful candidate will report directly to
the Lab Administrator and will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of these computer labs.
The duties include but are not limited to: • assisting UCT undergraduate students with queries, problems and minor
troubleshooting relating to personal computers, printers and software used in the labs • enforcing lab rules and
regulations. Candidates must therefore be customer focused.
Applicants must be fully computer literate and have a good understanding of how to use Windows, Microsoft Office,

The main purpose of this position is to maintain hygiene within commercial development and provide housekeeping services.
Minimum requirements:

- 1 year verifiable housekeeping experience in the hotel industry.
