WESTERN CAPE REGION EXTERNAL ADVERT

PRACTITIONER: DISABILITY MANAGEMENT UNIT (1 POST)
Salary : R376 413 – R 443 403 (SL 8) p/a, exclusive of benefits
Location : Regional Office, Cape Town (Reference Number: SAS/PRAC/DMU/DEC2024)

Minimum Appointment Requirements
A 3-year tertiary qualification (NQF level 6) as recognized by SAQA in the relevant field, 2-3 years’ experience in the relevant field. Computer literacy is essential.

Added Advantage
A Valid Driver’s licence and Customer Service experience / exposure

Key Performance Areas
General administrative support in the Unit relating to Disability Management that includes: the co-ordination of enquiries related to Disability Management, the co-ordination of medical appeals within the region, the co-ordination of Medical Assessments Claims within the region and communication with local offices in respect thereof, Services to perform Medical Assessments within the region (service level agreements with the Department of Health and Medical Practitioners contracted by SASSA), Assist with Information Management relating to the Disability Management unit. Furthermore, assist in monitoring
and evaluating in terms of adherence to Social Grants Disability Management Model within the region. Ensure adherence to service standards for enquiries related to Disability Management. Assist with the drafting of correspondence and coordination of communication to various stakeholders relating to queries and information required. Assist with Information Management relating to the disability management unit which includes statistical and status reports reflecting disability management within the region. Assist with the management of projects pertaining to Disability Management (including Online
Disability Model) within the region. Management of staff. Ensure adherence to Section 57 of the Public Finance Management Act (PMFA, Chapter 6, Part 3).

Appointment will be subjected to a compulsory pre-employment screening in the form of qualification, references, ITC, criminal checks and compulsory assessment (where applicable it is the applicant’s responsibility to have foreign qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) prior to the selection process.
