Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Finance or relevant equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar environment

Core Responsibilities:

  • Execute and contribute to the effective control and coordination of financial and accounting activities within the sundry debtors section, in alignment with the financial strategy and supervise the functioning of subordinates
  • Verify correctness of billed accounts per billing cycle for submission to printers to ensure that the clients are billed correctly and timeously
  • Analyse and reconcile debtor accounts by making use of system reports and excel spreadsheets in order to verify and rectify any discrepancies
  • Implement Council Resolutions and Agreements in respect of sundry debtors to maintain collections of the section and Department at large
  • Apply credit control policy in respect of sundry debtor accounts to ensure that outstanding debt is recovered optimally and in line with CoE Credit Control and Debt Collection policy
  • Administer salary deductions with regard to all loans and sundry accounts to recover monies that are owed by Council employees
  • Reconcile vote ledger with regard to debtors accounts and compile debtor balance certificate with regard to sundry debtors votes to ensure accuracy of accounts
  • Provide financial information in respect of proprietary right transactions to Council appointed Attorneys in order for transfer to commence
  • Perform general office duties to ensure the optimal operation of the section
