Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair has a vacancy for a Technical Service Specialist – Structures at our Head Office. The successful applicant will report to the Manager: Engineering.
Job Description
- Supply, review, and assess the damage found during checks or due to operational incidents (i.e. bird strikes);
- Determine the best course of action for rectification if the damage falls outside the scope of approved OEM manuals;
- Liaise with the OEM on possible repair options based on available equipment/spares and resources and fleet requirements;
- Create Engineering Orders for tasks, modifications and or compliance actions to be carried out on the fleet;
- Ensure the maintenance of the highest standard of records for structures repairs for compliance with EASA, FAA, SACAA, leasing requirements and the support of sale and return of aircraft;
- Review Service bulletins, Service Letters and ADS for possible implementation on the fleet.
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 or Equivalent;
- Aircraft Qualification
- Aircraft Structures;
- 10 years post qualifying experience in the Aviation Industry in particular Aircraft Structures and/or Composites;
- Exposure to an Engineering work environment (Advantageous);
- Trained and experience on B737CL and B737NG;
- Hands on experience in repair design and implementation;
- Proficient in Aircraft Documentation;
- Licenced (Advantageous);
- Exposure to MyBoeing Fleet & MyBoeing Toolbox applications (Advantageous);
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements. Knowledge of aircraft documentation, manufacturer supplied data and/ or manuals;
- Knowledge of SAM (Advantageous);
- Knowledge of the FAA/ EASA and SACAA legislation; Knowledge of Modification applications. Knowledge of Repair Applications;
- Knowledge and the interpretation of STC data packages, as well as AD’s, SB I s and/or OEM Drawings;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).

Assistant Administrator: Technical Records

Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair has a vacancy for an Assistant Administrator: Technical Records at our head office in Bonaero Park. The successful applicant will report to the Senior Administrator: Technical Records.
Job Description
- Update the maintenance system and capture daily ATLT’s flight hours, landings, oil usage and complaints;
- Capture work packs when required;
- File and scan hard copy paperwork as required;
- Assist with maintaining an orderly document storage area in line with standards, procedures and regulations;
- Separate incoming paperwork for assigned aircrafts;
- Identify all discrepancies on ATLRs and missing log pages and communicate with relevant stakeholders to obtain correct records;
- Identify and communicate Hour and Cycle differences between the MRO system and ATLR’s;
- Update all part changes/movements on ATLR’s;
- Verify and file certificates received;
- Notify administrators of new components;
- Assist with updating work orders, Ads,SBs, Eos,STs, repairs, etc. into the MRO System and file documents accordingly;
- Distribute documents as requested by departments;
- Resolve or escalate records queries and requests;
- Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations, policies and guidelines;
- Adhere to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures;
- Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance;
- Analyse stakeholder needs and identify improvement incentives;
- Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster meaningful interactions.
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential);
- Certificate / Diploma in administration or related qualification (Advantageous);
- 1 – 2 years of technical records administration experience in a mid-size organisation (Essential);
- Experience working with aircraft documentation, aircraft records systems or technical maintenance systems (Advantageous);
- Willing to work overtime.
