Inherent Requirements
Degree in quantitative fields such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science,
and / or related qualifications
Demonstrate proficiency supported by industry-relevant certifications (e.g.
PowerBI, Microsoft Azure, Python, SAS, SQL etc.)
5 years or more of hands-on work experience in data analytics.
At least 2 years of experience in engaging business on requirements and
implementing Microsoft PowerBI dashboards. Experience with SQL and working
with large-scale data sets
Experience in modelling business problems. Excellent problem solving and
analytical skills. Experience in operationalising data analytics solutions

Role Summary
As the Data Science and Analytics Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and
executing Netcare’s data-driven strategy. Working closely with the Chief Data Officer
and the Head of Data Science you will collaborate business stakeholders to ensure
that all data science, reporting and analytics initiatives supports Netcare’s personcentered health and care vision.
The key focus of your role will be to build and lead a high-performing team of Data
Scientists and Analytics professionals. By fostering a sustainable, long-term
capability in Data Science and Analytics, you will establish the foundation needed to
achieve Netcare’s strategic objectives and continuously drive innovation and impact
through data.
Inherent Requirements
Advanced Academic Background – Degree (Honours, Masters or PHD) in
quantitative fields such as Actuarial Science, Statistics, Computer Science,
Engineering, Mathematics and/or combination of these.
Professional Certifications: Proven expertise in data science technologies such
as Python, PowerBI, Microsoft Azure, Spark, big data ecosystems, machine
learning frameworks, and cloud infrastructure..
Extensive Experience: At least 10 years of hands-on involvement in data
science projects, including managing large-scale initiatives and leading
multidisciplinary teams..
Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of Python or R and common
analytics/ML libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, SciPy), as well as a proven
track record using Jupyter notebooks. Strong SQL skills and experience with
large, complex datasets are essential.
Applied Machine Learning: Demonstrated ability to apply statistical machine
learning techniques to predictive modeling, delivering measurable value.
Operationalization Expertise: A history of successfully bringing data science
solutions into high-scale production environments, ensuring long-term reliability
and business impact.

Role Summary
The Data Scientist will collaborate closely with the Data Science and Analytics team to
enable data-driven insights, measurement, monitoring and decision making. By
leveraging advanced analytical techniques, this individual will drive value across key
business areas – using data science to inform strategic choices, refine processes, and
develop automated predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions that address
complex healthcare challenges.
The role span the whole data science lifecycle – from gaining a deep understanding of
the business context and refining problem definitions, through rigorous data
preprocessing, feature engineering, and model experimentation, to conducting
robust hypothesis testing and training of machine learning models. Ultimately, the
Data Scientist will deploy these solutions into production environments, continuously
monitor and refine outcomes, and ensure that data-driven intelligence directly
enhances the organization’s healthcare initiatives.
Inherent Requirements
Degree (Honours, Masters or PHD) in quantitative fields such as Actuarial Science
, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and / or a combination

Mechanical Artisan

Three years’ experience in a similar role.

Occupational Health and Safety Act’s regulations relating to machinery.
Knowledge of the R158 building regulations, specifically with regards to hospitals,
theatres, and industrial kitchens.
