Specialist: External Marketing x2

Requirement Overview

The purpose of this role is to develop and execute marketing strategies, campaigns and related activities of AGSA across a variety of channels, to help enhance the AGSA brand, its objectives as well as improve employee engagement/ experience. The role plans and executes on a wide variety of marketing campaigns, activities and works closely with internal departments/ business units to deliver on the AGSA reputational promise.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Function:

  • Build a positive brand reputation and increase AGSA brand awareness and reach a variety of stakeholders from government and parliament leaders, business, civil society organisations,universities, students, media and the public.
  • Design, implement, support and drive the marketing and branding plans in alignment with the overall AGSA brand strategy.
  • Lead the integrated marketing campaigns from concept to execution by developing and executing comprehensive marketing plans that increase the brand equity of AGSA.
  • Lead integrated campaigns for graduate recruitment for young professionals and initiatives that are focused on enhancing the employer brand of the AGSA that is focused on talent recruitment and retention of existing talent.
  • Drive the development and measurement of marketing metrics that enable effective decision making around brand health, share of voice and effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
  • Manage the end-to-end marketing function (full value chain).
  • Act as a link between the various AGSA portfolios and the Communications Business Units by proactively managing and preempting requests for internal and external marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the portfolio teams and business units to align marketing strategies with organizational objectives and targets.
  • Act as a custodian of the AGSA brand.

Production Management:

  • Drive go-to market efforts of tailored products and services of AGSA to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with the creative team in conceptualizing how and when to use marketing materials and capture target audience and brainstorming and working with internal resources to execute new marketing ideas.
  • Give input to the advertising and digital standards and guidelines for the function, that drives consistency in brand messaging.
  • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to identify changing marketing needs and align service offering to the changing needs.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities that can assist in enhancing the AGSA brand.
  • Implement critical policies relating to marketing channels.
  • Provide quarterly reports on critical milestones and submit to SM for review.
  • Take ownership of the management of marketing channels and collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders where required.
  • Develop, distribute and deploy all marketing content and collateral across relevant channels on behalf of the Communication BU, relevant BU stakeholders and AGSA leadership.
  • Ensure optimal usage of appropriate traditional and web-based technology/channels relevant to the internal and external audience.
  • Identify and implement new marketing channels and develop collateral accordingly.
  • Manage the designs and creative for all marketing channels.
  • Make inputs into the update of the look and feel of internal communication channels.
  • Ensure the approved AGSA branding principles are applied to the design layout of all marketing collateral.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Develop and maintain collaborative and value-adding relationships with internal and external stakeholders for the execution of marketing plans and campaigns.
  • Ensure a clear understanding of stakeholder needs and determine the appropriate approach and content of the campaigns and content in consultation with the relevant stakeholder and line manager.
  • Manage service providers for the production and execution of deliverables.
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to identify and evaluate performance barriers and success to continuously improve the delivery of the marketing channels.
  • Deliver in accordance with the agreed service level agreements
    (SLAs).

People Management:

  • Manage performance to drive productivity.
  • Participate and/or take lead in the business unit transformation/culture plans.
  • Provide support to the management team regarding centre management and other people related tasks.

Financial Management:

  • Contribute to the compiling of the centre budget, implement and monitor the budget for the allocated projects.
  • Ensure compliance to AGSA policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and procedures.
  • Manage supply chain processes within scope of work.

Other responsibilities (Applicable to all JDs)

  • Perform and/or manage other projects, tasks and assignments delegated by the Senior Manager not stipulated in the role profile description as and when required.

Skills, Experience & Education

Formal Education:

This position requires a minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related
qualifications.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ practical experience in developing and managing marketing
campaigns and strategies in both private and public sector.
