Lead Solution Architect
Job Description
The Lead Solution Architect (SA) is responsible for creating and maintaining technology solution designs covering conceptual, logical and physical architectures. The SA will
be experienced in domain architecture spanning (but not limited to) Process, Business, Application, Security, Data, Integration, Infrastructure and Cloud. The SA will
support the Lead SA and Business Engagement (BE) & Enterprise Architecture (EA) Director in contributing to the EA and SA practice while focusing on delivering a
fit for purpose Solution Architecture across a range of IT and Business Projects. Practice capabilities and solutions will align with the Business and IT strategic
objectives. SA delivery will align with EA and IT governance principles, frameworks and patterns.
Responsibilities
•Be a key participant in Joint Application Design (JAD) and seek a shared understanding between Business and IT on proposed solutions.
•Craft HL and Detailed Architectures that support Business Requirements and Objectives and conform to the EA practice.
•Conduct System Analysis to establish the AS IS architecture for a range of projects
•Apply the relevant EA frameworks and patterns to create/enhance the appropriate domain (Process, Business, Application, Integration, Security, Infrastructure, Cloud,
Technology) target architectures.
•Present proposed Architectures and related technologies at Architecture Forums for IT approvals
•Keep engaging daily with Business on problem areas in IT that affect them or could affect them
•Build strong relationships between IT and Business Units across Tiger Brands
•Contribute to objectives and supporting strategies with Business for IT to deliver
•Provide feedback to Business on all IT projects in progress across Tiger Brands
•Work with the Project Management Team in IT to track all project progress
•Conduct analysis and provide support on opportunities/challenges/opportunities facing the Business
•Translate business requirements into economical, efficient and effective IT solutions; roadmaps and supporting enterprise architectures (business process architecture,
business architecture, infrastructure architecture, data architecture, application architecture, security architecture, integration architecture and technology architecture)
•Developed robust, secure, adaptable and scalable solution designs for business solutions
•Provide consultancy services to assist business and IT teams during RFI; RFP; project scoping; project budgeting, and high-level conceptual design
•Conduct feasibility assessments were requested for proposed application/technology implementations or changes
•Design detailed low level technical solutions to meet project objectives; business requirements; business capabilities, business processes that adhere to best IT (especially
EA, SA) practices (fit for purpose; adaptable; future proof; cost efficient; secure; maintainable and supportable)
•Drive and participate in governance forums to assess that in house and 3rd party solutions meet IT standards, policies and frame works that are aligned to the IT strategy,
business capability goals, application and integration roadmap, data and information architecture and BEEA EA, SA roadmap
•Review solutions after the development/implementation and testing phases to ensure that “As Designed” and “As Built” solutions are aligned; rectify design documentation, if required, and update the architecture landscape accordingly
•Identify non-compliant (regulatory, industry, IT approved) solutions and technical debt and propose mitigation actions
Qualifications
•BSc (Information Systems) or similar; Cloud or similar architecture certification
•5 – 8+ years in IT, with 5+ year experience in an Architect role (Application Architect, Integration Architect or Infrastructure Architect)
•In-depth knowledge of IT architectures (Cloud architecture and on premise); business process modelling; architecture modelling; ERP, CRM, SCM, HCM and
Finance applications; integration (B2B / SOA), BI, digitalization and mobile applications.
•Enterprise Application Development preferred.
•2+ Years with Cloud and Scaling Architecture
•E2E Solution Architecture Experience advantageous
•Software Engineering background advantageous
